We are finding that many of the Z's coming into the shop have the original Clutch Master and slave cylinder unit still in them, even though the clutches have been changed.

Over time the seals inside the unit have worn or are just failing due to age (brake fluid loves to make seals all squishy). If your Z isn't smooth or providing nice positive shifts. It is time to take a look.

Open the cap on the master's fluid reservoir, if the bottom is covered in black or the fluid is so dark you can't see the bottom...well...It is no good.

Another area that is prone to failure over time is the shifter bushings and rubber boot mount that holds the shifter. We have seen quite a few of these worn or broken! A proper shifter should feel firm, not rattle or jiggle back and forth.
