Are front fenders of the 240 identical with those of a 260?

Good question, and to add to that, isn't there books out there for parts swapping, would be nice to know. Thorsten, hate to say this, but I just let a new 240 fender slip through my fingers. If I can relocate this fellow, would you be interested?

Hi Paul! The front fenders of my 240 are both rusted through. Renew would be less expensive than repair. Indeed, Nissan Europe also in England, has no more spare parts on stock. Otherwise it will take long to forward parts from the US. So I think we will restore the originals in depth.
However: I will ask the bodyman what he thinks about used fenders. I keep you clued up.

Thanks!
Thorsten

I believe this was brand new, just to let you know. It was the passenger side. Mine was just knocked in a bit on the bottom, but nothing I can't bend back out, for mine are solid, so I passed. I wanted the guys 240 rods and fender as a package deal, but he sold the rods on me, so another reason I declined.

Thorsten - the fenders on the 240Z, 260Z, and 280Z, 1970-1978 (not 280ZX) are the same.

Yup, all the same 1970-78. Last I knew they were still available from Nissan as well as aftermarket.

I see Black dragon has them as well. Not sure the gauge of metal is that thick, from what I've hear, but not sure on that. I also noticed that my 240 fenders seem heavier gauge than the S130's. ummmmm.

if you are looking for pretty decent used front fenders, I have four of them (I think) in my shed plus another decent set on my parts car. They aren't perfect but definitely easily restored. And for sale.

To be very very very technical here, all the s30 fenders are NOT the same. All the fenders you will get from Nissan now are but the early 240z cars and the later s30 cars had the d hook in different lengths. This will be obvious when the inspection lid has to be readjusted to work. Easy fix but just useful info just incase you start driving yourself crazy if something isn't lining up correctly at first.

Yeah, but he's right. One side of my 240 lines up perfectly, while on the other side the inspection lid misses the anchor loop ("D Ring") by about 1/4". That leads me to believe one or both of my fenders have been changed by the PO.
