In June of 1970, this was R&T's first impression of the 'new' Datsun 240Z.

They said a lot of good stuff about them, and I agree.

They DID, however, criticiZe the brakes and the front suspension, even noting something I experience with my 1970 Z; the car plows on hard right turns. Not left turns ~ they track very well and the whole car remains balanced while turning left.

But on hard right (90*) corners at speed, the left front tire screams and the nose tries to understeer. Very weird. So now I know it wasn't just my Z.

I remember Bob Sharp commenting that car #00006 was a 'plowing pig' when they tried to race it, and had to make their own adjustable front geometry.
