I simply must share some pics with you of the Bob Sharp Racing Datsun Camel GT Pace Car IMSA GTU 240Z 260Z 280Z Vintage Race Car. You've seen pictures of this car, the one with the unique stripes!

After running the IMSA Camel GTU series in the 1970s, the car changed hands a few times and also changed its appearance. The crew at Sharpsight Motorsports obtained the car and prepped it in the more conventional Red/White/Blue BSR racing colors.

Eventually the car hit the market and famed actor/comedian/Datsun Freak ADAM CAROLLA purchased it. Adam then enlisted Sharpsight's Shawn Pritchard to restore the car to its original Camel GT racing colors and trim. I've been fortunate enough to follow Shawn's progress on the car and what you see here is the final result. I took these pictures today, just before the transporter arrived to take the car to Adam in California.

Keep your eyes peeled for upcoming vintage racing events. The guy behind the wheel of this very classic Datsun race car with the big grin on his face will be Adam!

I remember this car.
It looked very "Un-Sharp-Like," but was a really nicely done car.

Gee, I wonder if they have enough rubber on that car?

I moved this Post to our Z PHOTO GALLERY, where all the historic photos of bygone-era Z cars live.

Thanks for this John ~ and pass along our congratulations to Shawn for doing such a great job! I know he must have loved working on that beast.

Frank

Because wide tires are too difficult to get your lips around?...................
