Here's an enjoyable ~ if dated ~ article written by an out of state racer/ reporter/collector named Rick S. Foster. It covers a small history of a lot of Vintage racers he encountered at Thompson Motor Speedway during a trip across CT in 2014, including PLN's Datsun. Rick then drove to F-40 Motorsports in Portland CT, met Wayne Carini, and drooled on several really outstanding cars.

I have childhood memories of a lot of these cars (by make and model, if not the individual unit itself) and enjoyed seeing my hero John Fitch's Special once again.

Any comments on the Lotus Elite, the 100-4 AH, the little MGs, the Scarab, the Cunningham, the Fitch Phoenix, or Bad Dog's PLN replica car? I was proud to have identified the Stanguellinis before reading the description.

Hey Frank, June 2014, that was the Grand Re-Opening event of the Road Circuit at Thompson.
That was the event that you couldn't find the track! I eventually found the track, some photos from that day. The last photos are John Fitch at Mt. Equinox Hillclimb. John points to the Hill...Hmmm may be a Babe Ruth moment.

Good stuff! I drove all around the track that day but never found it. I stopped for directions but nobody knew where it was! Burned a full tank of hi-test that day and just saw other cars headed in different directions on the road. :|

I know "136" was Fitch's plate number on the Phoenix, but what is that silver car, race number 136, chasing PLN's Datsun? I don't recognize it.

AGAIN I fail to ID a Marcos. They seem to have had so many body styles. I remember a few of them in the '60s. I should have known the tail is the give-away. Thanks.
