This month's Member Ride of the Month winner (chosen randomly) comes to us all the way from France...Jarno's exquisitely classy 1976 Cherry 260Z...

Jarno has shared over a dozen photos of this luscious Z - to see them all, be sure to visit his Member Ride album HERE

Congratulations Jarno!

HooooRAAAYYY! One of our International Zs gets spotlighted this month!
Congratulations Jarno, and allow me to tell your story ~

Jarno is from Finland, presently living in France. He always wanted a Z, so last Spring (2010) he joined the CTZCC and asked our help buying one. Jarno is no stranger to early Datsuns. He loves the old Datusn "Cherry" coupe (which are affectionately called "Apes" over there) and was seen working on and driving one so often, he became known as the King of Apes.

Our member Mike Englehardt graciously sold King his own 260Z and shipped it to France. Yes, this is Mike's old car and King's new one. Jarno has performed a year of work on the Z to get it the way he wanted it (and Mike has not bought another Z ~ yet 8) ).

It's good to zee this Z again. Most of us remember it at each Club function and event, proudly showing off its Automatic gearbox and 4-Bbl carb. Mike will probably cry when he zees his old beauty again, but Jarno can be very proud that he owns such a unique and beautiful 260Z!

Congratulations again, King, and thank you for being one of our most-active members. We are very proud to have you among us, and you well represent both Finland and France!

Frank

If I can get some $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ put together I will pick up the Z
partZ Mike has stashed away for me, whereupon he will be that much
closer to being a Z owner once again. But I must say, it will be very
hard to find a nicer Z than the one that found its way to Europe!

And that, my friends, is my compliment to Yarno (that is how you say
Jarno in Finnish) for his beautiful car. It's hard for me to conceive of
his being able to improve upon a car of that quality/condition! (If you
Z people keep shipping all the nice Zs to people like Thor and Jarno
in Europe, there won't be any left here!)

hey everyone! I'm very honored to have my Z as the member ride of the month! I have not been very active on the forum recently as I have just moved out of France.
I'm back in Finland now for good, and moving back has been so busy I haven't had time for anything else. Just today I had my first day in new job - very exciting - and I still have no place to live, so I'm spending lots of time trying to find a house to buy.

My Z has fallen in love with Finland and I just love to drive her on gravel.. So easy to get the back out :)

I hope to find a good house with a garage soon, to be able to settle down and spend more time with you guys again!

Just make sure to buy one with a multi-car garage from day one. I
promise you will be adding additional bays one or two at a time if you
don't. Carl Beck is out of room, Jim Frederick will always wish he had
more space, and I have to refinance the mortgage again to build some-
bigger out back because I didn't do it right the first time.

I made a few consecutive mistakes that slowed down the process so that I didn't manage to complete them before I had to pack up and move. Ever since I've been too busy to work on them. I will post updates as soon as I get something done :)

Congrats King! I had the honor to see and experience the Kings Z few weeks back. That's my first real contact with CTZCC. It was a one mean beast compared to my stock Z. Curvy roads of southern Finland is THE place for your car :)

Hope to see your Z again in Finnish Japanese Auto Extravaganza at the end of this month.
