Question...

Why are there 132 views and only 15 votes?

Come on people, just click on your favorite.

Barry, the additional 117 views are probably the "Mike's" checking to see how the voting is going. LOL

This is as exciting as a mile-long drag race. Two cars, neck and neck. Only a few more hours to get your votes in, folks!

Tom:

If you are "logged in" to your forum account and have not already voted, you should see a small white circle to the left of each nominee. Click on the circle that belongs to the nominee you want to vote for and click the "Submit" button right below the list of nominees.

BECAUSE THIS IS THE FIRST CONTEST and some people may have had trouble casting their votes, I will extend the voting period for one more day...PLEASE VOTE ON OR BEFORE JULY 1 (TUESDAY).

Wednesday morning (July 2), I'll close the voting and begin the festivities for our victor!

- Jim

CONGRATULATIONS, MIKE!

This was a tough competition, but I'm really glad this car won, because it was my personal favorite among the entrants. Usually my vote is the Kiss of Death (name any election; I caused the best candidate to lose by voting for him or her), but I really like Mike's 260 for several reasons. The newer Z cars will out-perform it, offer a better ride and probably out-handle it. But there's something about the old first generation style that simply captures me and, for all their faults, I love them.
Mike's is actually a very rare car. When you consider it, there were very few 260s ever made (a single year) so any 260 is special, but when you start adding factory options (airconditioning or automatic transmissions, etc), the cars become individually very exclusive.
And Mike DRIVES his. It isn't a trailer queen or a garage display; it gets used and beaten on the same potholed roads which broke my Explorer springs and tore the steering out of my buddy's new Dakota. Yet Mike shows up in it for meetings, and you can tell he gave it a shave and haircut before he came. You have to love a 34 year old car to keep it in that condition and use it as a frequent driver.
There's a certain beauty in that which exceeds the sleek grace and racy profile of the newer cars, and that beauty counted for 1/2 of my vote.

Well Done, Mike! Good on Ya, Mate!

You other entrants made this a really tough competition, but that only make Mike's Victory Champagne taste sweeter. Great cars, fun contest, great idea from the overworked mind of our Web Wizzard Jim Hagani!

thanks everyone for making my tin can ride of the month. the car looks real nice in pictures and it might seem glamorous to ride around in a 34 year old car, but there is alot to be said about riding and owning a later model zcar. you guys can turn your radios on, i can't i have to listen for parts falling off my car, you can drive your car any place you want, i can't , i have classic insurance, i'm limited, you don't have to carry tools with you, i do, so i can fix my car on the side of the highway!! i wouldn't trade one minute in my car with anyone, this old car is my personality, old school and direct!! this club is our outlet from every day living, please attend the meetings and events, you joined for a reason! we all have someth ing in common - zcars- new or old!! and the next winner is?????? thanks again, mike

Mike,
Congratulations. I especially like the look of your personally engraved "cyber-trophy". Just don't try to take it home and put it on a shelf! Look forward to seeing you at our show. Regards, Ross
