Here's a shout for the folks at RockAuto. I've recently purchased a variety of stuff for my project, all with fast shipping and accurate parts. A water temp sensor with a built-in retaining nut did not fit the stock thermostat housing. After a couple of emails to clarify the problem, they immediately emailed me a pre-paid FedEx shipping label for the return. The credit was quickly posted to my card. Similarly, a core return for a brake booster was quickly credited. Excellent service!!!

I wholeheartedly agree Jim! I got a lot of parts from ROCKAUTO.COM for my 240Z restoration and I echo what Jim said: fast shipping, great quality parts, excellent prices and all ordered right online!

AND I scored two NOS Bendix aluminum brake drums on closeout for only 25 bucks each!

:D

RockAuto has a LOT of useful items for the Z that are hard to find elsewhere. All at pretty good prices too. Great store.

Nice! I've been planning to order something from rockauto but i havent dared yet. Good to hear about the service quality! Has anyone ordered alternators from there? Price is absolutely fantastic.

Rev,
A reconditioned ZX alternator was one of my purchases from these folks. It is a Hitachi unit.

Hitachi? Great! Maybe i'll get my colleague to order parts too. He has a porche 944 convertible. Rockauto has tons of rare parts for it too.

I totally agree. I so far have gotten rebuild kits for the master cylinders, and been all over their 'site and they have alot of the harder to get parts. Now there are a few parts I'd prefer to get from the dealer because of quality, but I defiantly recommend this place. I'll always check out MSA first, then of course sometimes because of my discount, I'll get the parts way cheaper at NAPA. The thing also with Rock Auto is you can pick your manufacturer as well.

Dunno - brainwashed like so many of us???

One tiny thing to be aware of: they ship from a lot of warehouses. A large parts order can get broken into several shipments and incur extra shipping charges. This will show up in the checkout process before you commit to purchase. Some of your savings may get reduced or eliminated.

A nice touch: every shipment has a car-photo magnet inside (usually a domestic but always a nice shot).

WELL! I am proud to say that "RockAuto.com" has signed onto our website and is apparently reading our comments!

I think that's pretty cool, and I have encouraged them to look the whole Club over and maybe join us. Even if they don't, it would be pretty nice to have them on here to discuss technical issues and to adviZe us of new stuff in their catalog.

Maybe if we can establish a relationship with them, we can advertiZe them on our Homepage and send them some business.

Thanks to whomever told them about us! Keep up the good work.

Today I received a very complimentary PM from the folks at RockAuto.com. They are interested in exploring a relationship with the Club. I have forwarded that correspondence to PreZident Ross for his consideration.
This could be the start of something nice. 8)

I have looked thru their catalog and found about a boxcar full of money I could have saved by using RockAuto instead of BlkDrgn or MSA.
We grow too soon old and too late smart.
