I took my Z out today for the first ride since last Fall. Since then it had refused to start until the fuel pump was replaced, AND my hips were so bad before and immediately after replacement, I wasn't able to get into/out of the car anyway.

So today's 20 miles mark a real personal victory for me. They are the first miles I have put on my car in at least 5 months, and I was able to simply fold up into the car and get out again without pain!

I noticed a few glitches I want to work out, but only a few. The steering wheel wobbled a bit at steady speed, until I proved it was a front caliper which was not retracting fully, by maintaining steady speed with my right foot and simultaneously stepping lightly on the brake with my left foot. The wobble disappeared immediately.

There is a new CLUNK in the rear driveline, certainly a U-joint beginning to demand replacement, so that gives me an excuse to drive out to Vinny's soon.

I wanted to fill it up but I was having so much fun driving that I just never stopped. And it was still wearing a 1/2 year of garage dust so I wanted to drag it thru the carwash, but I was having so much fun, THAT didn't happen, either.

Oh well, there are plenty more days ahead.

Congratulations Frank!! It's been a long road getting to this point, I'm glad you are able to get in and out of your Z and actually enjoy it again! I was hoping you'd be burning gas in it today.
