It sounds like a great gathering place for Z's to meet, greet and admire each others rides. Spouses, friends and family can gather for the event and, I presume, a tour of the facilities. The only "issue" that I might foresee is the car drivers inability to participate in any sampling of the vineyards wares. All Z drivers(and all other drivers) would be, and should be, the "Designated (alcohol free) Driver" of their beautiful classic and unique cars. 8)

For me, this would not be an issue. I would just enjoy the day and the viewing of other's sweet rides. The gathering should be a fun event and not foster a proverbial fish bowl for local law enforcement at the end of what would be Z purrfect day.

Gee Howie, that's about the most-poetic thing you've ever written on here!

I would love to attend, depending on dates, weather, and what's happening in my life at that moment.

Q: Do I really want to take my Z across the saltwater channel on the crowded ferry?
Q: How far is this venue from Port Jeff?
Q: Who are these guyZ, and why haven't we HOID of them before now? How many 240Zs are there on Lawn Guyland?

Great to hear from you guys and we appreciate the invite!

Frank T

Hi RichZ37134,

When I Googled "Datsun 240Z of Long Island" I saw pictures/images of a lot of some awesome looking 240Z's.

Is this the group that's putting together the gathering? Are you a group of friends or a bunch of gearheads that just happen to have a common love for the Z? Would like to hear more about you and the others.

Howard J

Howie, can you please share a link to those photos? I can't find anything on these guyZ unless someone holds my hand. I saw a guy trying to start a Long Island Z Club awhile back but I can't find any follow-up on it.
Thnx/Frank T

Frank its Zcar of NY or an offshoot of them, it's all on Facebook so a link won't help you if you dont use Facebook.

Hi Frank,

Just type in "Datsun 240Z of Long Island" (without the quotes) on your search bar. It's not a website. More like just a bunch of car pictures that appear on the search screen.

Good luck.

P.S.- The car photos (after a closer inspection) might just be a compilation of 240Z's and NOT a single local group.

So these are our member Clive's NYZCC club guys and they're just starting their own neighborhood thing? Are they following club rules (alcohol etc)? I'm sorry, I never heard of these guys and I don't know a thing about them. I'm not on FB since they changed their privacy policy so I have no way to search them. I typed in that address and only found outdated advertisements for individual cars, but no website or even anything mentioning a club by any name. I don't think any of the cars shown on Google are LIZ or "Datsun 240Z of LI" club members.

Rich, who are you guys affiliated with? NYZCC? ZCCA? Z Association of NY? ZCC of New England? EastCoast Z Assn? Are you guys chartered?

I just saw that they're using Ross' Annual CTZCC picnic as an advertisement for their Z club?! I hope Ross gave them permission to do that.
I'll check.

F.Y.I.

It appears that Richard S. is a member of the New York Z Car Club and posts on their Facebook page. He says to PM him on the clubs Facebook page with any questions about the event.

Thanks guys! I contacted Ross, Jimmy and Rich and this was all approved beforehand. Rich is a cross-member of ours and Clive's and he is starting a new Z club there on Lawn Guyland. We wish him all the luck and need to help him out anyway we can.
Good luck, Rich! :D
