Boy, this is looking good John. BTW, did you re-grease the rear axle splines with all those little balls and spacers while they are out? Fun job. Also the rear wheel bearings? I'm guessing you did, but just checking as these items will be seeing some additional stress when you unleash this beast on the road. |

10-4. I thought you had a lift and a transmission jack. |

I can see putting the engine and tranny in together as long as you have a good engine hoist with one of those "tilt" rigs attached. I've done it before with one, but not with an LS block. A few guiding hands will help too. |

Project 530Z update: Finally have the complete underside of the car wrapped up! Refurbished gas tank, freshly painted suspension parts, new bushings, springs, struts, rear brakes with related parts, the BIG Toyota/Z31 brake upgrade up front, refurbished 280ZX turbo 15” wheels and new Sumitomo 215/60/15 performance tires. Whew! A sneak peak below on what she’ll look like (imagine copperhead paint with BRE stripes). Next up, the drivetrain. Engine, transmission, clutch ready to mate and install. Stay tuned.

Wow, those are some serious brake calipers. Glad you decided on the copperhead paint color. I don't think you'll regret that. Q: What will become of your old L28? Frank |

I’ve kept all of the original stock parts from the car including the engine. Maybe the next guy will want to put it back. |

Lookin' Good JT ! I can't wait to see the finished car. You MUST take some videos of this beast hitting the road and share them with us! |

So it's been 3 weeks since the last news. Is this Z-Beast done yet? |

Update: Fall is approaching and the project is back on track. The V8 and Z32 five speed have been mated up thanks to a fabulous kit from G Force. It included a shiny new flywheel, adapter plate, pilot bearing and hardware to make the process easy. New rear main seal of course. Add in a new stage two clutch and she’s good to go. It’s been awesome hanging with my pals turning some wrenches and having fun. Next up the drivetrain finally will go into the 280 chassis then turn to the wiring to wake the beast. Stay tuned.

Project 530Z update: Doing some more research, I decided to use the LS/S30 motor mount kit from Dirty Dingo Motorsports because of its simplicity and full adjustability for drivetrain placement. The brackets are installed and ready to go. Also this week I’ll install the upgraded transmission mount from Megan Racing. Not solid to prevent harshness, but not soft like the OEM rubber. The urethane composite bushing will take the greater power of the V8 without beating up the driveline, or the driver. Next up, FINALLY lifting the heart of the beast into the body. That will be in a couple of weeks because I’ll be needing some helping hands for that! Stay tuned....

1. If you're considering air-conditioning, now is the time to install it, while you have free access to the whole engine bay and firewall. 2. Will you give Tom Bork a chance to fling this ZBeast around WGI? 3. 'Z-Beast' is not a bad idea for a license plate, either. |

The only thing the engine is going to turn is the alternator and wheels. 2. Sure! Solo of course. 3. I like it! |
