Nice work on this, I think it's going to look really sharp all done too. I'll bet it's a real handful to drive! Jay |

He really should wheel-Dyno his creation. Dr. Frankenstein would be proud. AND he should consider fixing a tall lightning rod to the rear bumper, to start it with each morning. ALIIIVVE! IT'S ALIIIVVE! |

I don't think that there are any chains that could hold down this BEAZT! Great job, John! |

Any ideas on a timeline for the body and paint work John? You mentioned it's soon but I'm curious, early summer timeframe? Always fun to see a fresh paint job happen. Jay |

Jay I’m shopping for a shop right now. Not looking for a concourse job for this beast, it’s going to be DRIVEN. Trying to stay within budget. Hoping to get it to paint by June. |

If you're being responsible and staying within a budget (that's real self-discipline) you might consider 'wrapping' the car rather than painting it. The cost is less than 1/2 and it can be done in a single day. Plus, you can chooZe your own colors or create custom design graphics. Hey, you could actually make your 530Z look like your Torino! If you didn't like the result, you could peel it off with a little effort. At least it would protect your finish for a couple years until you were ready to have it actually painted. |

Project 530Z update, it’s been a while! The interior is 99% done and reassembled. Just some minor tweaking to do with the seat mount height. New gauges, Summit racing seats, console , stereo, speakers, shifter and a restored old school 240z steering wheel make the interior pop. So we now have a running and driving car! I’m now in the process of sourcing someone to paint the car, might not happen until fall, hopefully sooner. Got to look good AND fast, which it certainly will. It’s late in the fourth quarter, stay tuned!

Hey everyone!! My apologies for being absent lately but the 530Z project has been sitting idle for the summer while I played with some other warm weather toys. But I am happy to report that it is now a running and driving car and let me tell you, it pulls like a train! Not your average Z anymore. The most difficult task I have had with the entire project was getting aftermarket racing seats to fit in the car! I tried three different types and while I could technically get them “in” the car, I could not get the adjustments to work properly because they were too high or too wide. Not much room in that 280z floor well! So I had the original seats recovered with some additional bolstering and am mounting them back where they belong. Still some minor details I am now working out such as sorting out the gauges and signal lights, but I am planning on starting bodywork in the next week or two, then off to paint. This beast WILL be tearing up pavement come spring. Promise! Stay tuned!
