My Z spent most of the day at Vinny's Z emporium today, for general routine maintenance and creature comfort enhancement. For those of you who harped at me all these years for breathing direct crankcase vapors inside my cabin, that issue appears to have been resolved by cleaning my EGR valve (stuck closed) and by installing a T-fitting to pull crankcase vapors out the top of my cam cover and into the intake balance tube. Worked wonders, but now makes my trips far less adventurous.

The routine oil and filter change, the few odd bulbs replaced, the hydrostatic defibrillating capacitor recharged, the left and right wing machine-guns calibrated and bore-sighted and the alternator belt self-alignment system activated, and I was back on the road. I even got a free carwash because it rained while I was there.

Great way to spend a day.

What are you going to do with all those bottles of eye drops if you're cockpit no longer fills with those aromatic exhaust fumes? Will you still pull over on the side of the road on long trips, for old times sake and to continue the "tradition"?

You were supposed to forget about that, Howie.

I have no idea what you're talking about. 8)

Frankly, it was kinda fun pulling over every hour to talk with you guys and have you help me out of the cockpit to breathe some clean air.

They sometimes had to lift Nuvolari out of his car too, due to being overcome by nitro and castor fumes, but it was in the Winner's Circle.

I might still maintain that practice, fantasizing about being the Great Flying Mantuan, having spent the last full measure of myself and my little supercharged P3 Alfa Romeo to streak past the mighty German cars at the finish line. I might even learn to roll my wrist and mumble something majestic in Italian as you lift me from the cockpit.

Maybe not.

I'm happy to hear that the cockpit will no longer fill with internal combustion fumes. That probably means that no additional damages or delusional thoughts will persist beyond those that presently exist. LOL. Oorah!  8)

Yeah, those appear to be clearing up nicely, thanks.
And Vanna, Angelina and Julia are each very grateful to me for making it so much nicer in the car! 8)
