Hey all, I'm trying to price this 1971 240z from eBay https://www.ebay.com/itm/1971-Datsun-Z-Series/153392514460. I've gotten a little bit more info from the owner: "The build date is 12/70, the vin is HLS3017073 It has quite a bit of parts, I would say it’s 90% complete. It has small holes in various places on the car, but the rust was removed. The only rust in on the bottom of the car and it’s nothing a sander could take off since it’s just surface rust. The worst spot is on the left rocker panel, it’s about 5 inches wide. Unfortunately it doesn’t come with the original drive drain, it was already sold from both cars before I bought them." It's in pieces and I've asked for more pictures of the included parts. I would only purchase the original shell + parts and maybe the 300zx tranny - not the RB engine, turbo etc. |

WOW Marc! How great to hear from you again!!! I would love to zee you back in an S30 again. Do you still have #88178? This engineless project, if nearly complete, might be worth around $3,000 if the interior and dashboard were available. Prices on our cars have gone nuts during the past year, so anything under $3g would be an investment. If you have a solid shell and the rolling parts, you can make the car anything you want it to be. So good to hear you in here again. I still have the video of you racing my 240 around Lime Rock Park!! Frank T |

Thanks Frank - Wow you're still up late helping Z fans. Appreciate that. I remember that ride at Lime Rock, that was a great day. I remember you telling the Ferrari guys that they were all lucky.... that was awesome. No I'm starting over on the Z front. That estimate is helpful. I'll let you know how it goes. Been reading about The Fairlady Z-L and the Z-432R for inspiration. Supposedly the Nissan 2000GT was part of the early inspiration. Best, Marc |

Haha - only the engine bay was blue... the car itself was Maaco Gray... The new owner shipped it out to california and turned it into a show car. Here's a link to it: http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/events-2016-z-bash/ Look for Matt Kochaon’s 1972 240Z And no more kids. The two I have are more than enough. They're doing well though, thanks. |
