I was told this picture was taken last week, so still a work in progress. The wheels of progress turn slowly but at least they are still in motion.

I really like the color, and the paint finish looks really good from what I can see.

Thanks guys, I can claim no credit for any of it but it's good to see and nice to be able to share here.

She's definitely got a whole new look going on, I like it though. It's tasteful and the work is being done professionally and with lots of attention to detail. It's a great result, I'm happy. 8)

And I'm still wondering if the Bedini decals will make it to the final product.

Hopefully soon I'll be able to post some finished pictures.

How appropriate that you should receive this on Easter weekend. This whole story gives me stronger faith in The Resurrection. I hope we each come back fully restored. :D

We will.

And that is a great observation Frank. I didn't even make that connection.

On a side note, I did send some updated photos to the original owner of my Z yesterday. The first I've been in touch in awhile. I'm not sure he was totally on board with the color change but he definitely is happy she didn't get parted out, he said the restoration looks really great.

Final product (with the exception of reinstalling the stainless windshield and hatch trims).

Thank you all for following along, it's been fun sharing my Z story with everyone.

I hope you've enjoyed watching my old Z be rebuilt as much as I have.

Jay

I guess it is a happy ending to a sad story Jay. The car looks fantastic. I see it has CA tags, will it be headed there?

Sidebar question: Did you ever see the documentary movie on Netflix called "Above and Beyond"? Very interesting WWII story of a B-17 pilot trying to make it home after he and his crew were shot down over Nazi occupied Belgium after a bombing run to Germany. Very well done movie that I thought you might like.

Somehow we need to find an excuse to get together again.

Cheers!

Actually no John, I never heard of that movie before. I'm going to look it up though, that sounds like a good one. Thank you for the recommendation!

I asked him about the California plate too. He said that the car was not leaving NY, and that he was just waiting for Antique plates for it.

We do need to get together at some point, and I hope to do that in the near future. Maybe the fall? Got a full plate for summer but hoping things settle when the kids get back into school. I think it'd be fun to take a drive up with my Dad again.
