Plenty of respect for the 300bhp 150+mph Nissan beast here! These were the rocketships of the post-modern era and not much on the road could touch them when everything was running well. Our member Quinn Bannon (who will host our monthly meeting at County Line Nissan on 29 May) has owned one for years and it is still a breathtaking car.

This particular model has only 8,000 miles. That is exciting, depending on where & how those miles were driven.

Here's a skeptical thought:

Guys who follow the old Muscle Cars are often faced with 50 year old 500 bhp "One Owner" cars for sale which have only a few thousand actual miles on them, but they were all driven in a straight line, 1/4 mile at a time, full-throttle in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears. This car's records show the mileage has been "consistently applied" thru it's lifetime....does that mean he ran an equal number of drag races each year for nearly 30 years? That would equate to about 500 races and practice runs (and back to the pits) each year, which would be believable for a dedicated drag car.

You can absolutely clap-out a drag car's engine in a lot fewer than 8k miles; most professional circuit racecars get engine rebuilds after each race, until the cylinder walls just won't tolerate another honing or rebore and the engine is sold off as-is to be made into an interesting coffee table and a new block is ordered for the car.

If this car shown is an all - original 8K mile twin turbo driven with love and care, it's a gem and worth every nickel of that $46,000. If it has spent it's life killing Corvettes and Vipers on drag strips for 25 years and can't be rebuilt anymore, it's not worth that. I wish they specified more about the car's past.

Sorry to sound like an ogre about a beautiful car, but really low-mileage performance cars which are older than my kids make me wonder why they haven't been driven and enjoyed more by their "one owner".

If I'm still around when Time Travel is mastered, I will empty out my bank account and vacation back in the 1950s, '60s, '70s and '90s, buying and storing about a doZen cars; Jaguars, Cunninghams, Cobras, Studebakers, Healeys, Maserati, Aston Martins, maybe even a front engined Ferrari or two, HLS30-00013, and a showroom-new Z32 twin turbo. Stick 'em all in a climate-controlled security storage and come back to them 60 yrs later ('the next day') and invite you guys to come play with my new cars. 8)
