I thought I had collected all the Grassroots Motorsports/Classic Motorsports Magazine articles about my Z, found this yesterday...Datsun 240Z vs Mazda RX7 Grudge match:
https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/artic ... dge-match/

Fun reading while hibernating from the next nor'easter.

The RX-7 and 8 have a considerable advantage over the S30 on an Autocross track. In this test the span of achievement probably depended upon the better driver. On any road course or hill climb or even drag strip I would take the Z over the Mazda.
Another old car which I always felt would have given the Z a rough time on an Autocross track was the TVR Griffith. Short wheelbase, tall tires, 289-V8 capable of up to 271 bhp. If you could figure out a way to put all that power to the ground, the TVR should have been nearly unbeatable.
