Hey everyone, I'm looking for a pair of EFI fusible link covers for 1975-78 280Z, you know, the white plastic domes that disintegrate after about 20 years.  Pics of what they look like below.I thought I would check with you all before I spring for new ones. Don't need brand new, just undamaged and reasonably nice. Let me know, thanks!

I've finished media blasting the 1982/83 280ZX "Swastika" wheels (I encourage any of you do-it-yourselfers to invest in a blast cabinet, they are awesome!) and they are off to the powder coater this week. They are to be chrome silver with the indents in satin black with stock centercaps. Tires are Falken touring 205/60/15. I think they'll look a LOT better than the circa 1970s "basket" wheels that were on the car and have seen better days.... Stay tuned.

Looking good John. While you are at this stage, make sure the bead areas of the rims are in good condition. I have had experience with corrosion from the road salts being used which have caused the aluminum alloy wheels on my Toyota to leak at the beads. I've talked with some tire experts on this and this is becoming a real problem with many alloy wheel owners. I think those wheels will look great on that car when they are done.

Good tip John, thanks. The rims don't appear to have any corrosion or pitting on the beads, but just to be safe, I'll have my tire guy take a look at them before I have them powder coated. |

New high performance touring 205/60/15 tires on freshly powdercoated silver metallic ZX turbo 15 inch wheels. The go on the car tomorrow. Ready for the road! If it ever stops snowing that is. More to come, stay tuned...

So, she's done! This car is an absolute time capsule with only 42,279 original miles ! It was the top of the line for Nissan in 1978 and could be brought home for the princely sum of $10,342! Extensive road test coming, as soon as the salt is washed off the roads by Mother Nature!

That's $39,500 in today's money. Your 2+2 might not have lost much value over 40 years! The longer you keep it, the more it will be worth. |
