I wish he had proof-read his own work before releasing it, but the information is good.

When I first entered this Club about 9yrs ago, a fully-restored 1972 240 with 88,000 miles was offered at $27,000 ($31k in today's money). The seller was desperate and took about $10,000 less than that from a car dealership who simply wanted to park the car in their showroom.

Prices plunged during the recession and you could buy a solid daily driver for around $5-8,000 and some which needed work for down around $3-4,000. I even had an Aug/71 240z GIVEN to me free once.

Our member Mike Englehart hates to see prices rising on the Z cars. He insists the main draw of the car is the historically low price, allowing every kid who wants one, to afford one.
Prices now seem to have escalated again into the mid-20s to mid-$30,000 range for a 'good' 240Z, and of course the price rises for pristine or very old units.

My own 1970 240Z remains for sale at $1,000,030.00 and a fierce fistfight. I won't part with it easily. 8)

After reading Frank's story on how he was reunited with his Z, I don't think he will ever part with his car. I can relate :) .

Thanks Rich for sharing the R&T article. Yes, we have seen our old Z's jump in price recently and you can verify this by going to the Haqgerty classic car value estimator. That Toyotoa 2000GT which sold for $1.2M a few years ago may have helped boost the vlaues also. This may not mean that much to guys like Frank and I as the real value to me is the pleasure of driving them as long as we have and enjoying all the memories they have given us over those years.

"Enjoy the Ride" as Mr. K used to put it.
