Thanks all. Finishing touches now going on. Fabricated brackets to install some awesome Acura seats, setting about with interior and exterior detailing. April 30 marks the one year anniversary of the loss of Jayden's dad. There will be a celebration which will include the unveiling of the finished Orange Peel.

Stay tuned...

PS: "Orange Peel" was the name given to the car by Jayden and his dad. To be forever known as, hopefully with custom plates!

Special plate would be great. 8) Maybe the custom plate can read: "O PEEL"?

OrngPeel?

Man, can you imagine having a 240Z as your very first car?? It's going to be like having Gina Lollobrigida as your first girlfriend ~ you'd be spoiled for life and no other girl would be the same.
This kid will be the envy of everyone who knows him.

Gina Lolla..... who?? Was that someone from like world war II, old timer? lol. :P

Must have been way before my time. 8) lol

There was a hell lot of work & efforts that sure went into getting this orange beast running! I am sure it was all worth it!

Well worth it! The car runs like a cat who had turpentine rubbed on his butt! Working on the interior now, fabricating brackets for some very cool (and much more comfortable) Acura seats, new door panels, shampooing the carpeting. The big reveal to the family is scheduled for Sunday April 30! :D

I'm sure the reveal will be a breath taking event. I hope to see it at one of the gatherings (assuming Jayden's OK with you showing it off). lol

BTW do you know of a CURLYS SERVICE, 624 EAST MAIN ST., PALMYRA, NY 14522 (315-597-3838) ? I'm asking because a club member is looking for a 1984 300ZX and an ad popped up on Craigs list saying that the car can be seen there. On Google Map it looks like it might be near you, but of course I could be totally wrong. :) No pictures and not much detail. :?  Just curious. Thanks.

https://rochester.craigslist.org/cto/6098374494.html

Good luck with the reveal. 8)

I've actually looked at this car Howard, its not that far from me. It has been for sale for about a year. Definitely needs lots of paint and bodywork, significant rust in the doglegs and rear lower quarters. I didn't drive it, but it looks like it could be a decent driver. I wouldn't spend more than a grand for it.

Orange Peel update: Finished!

Orange Peel lives again. A labor of love dedicated to the memory of Mike Cooper, and a legacy for his son, my grandson, Jayden. Thanks to my pals at the Zccr Zcarclubofrochester and Thiels Import Auto for their invaluable assistance in getting it done. She runs like a scalded cat and looks the part. We will be entering the car in Jayden's name at car shows this summer. Jayden is about ten years away from his Junior Prom, so his grandpa will be a careful custodian of Orange Peel until then. But come 2027, who do you suppose will be the COOLEST kid at the prom?

'nuff said.

Z on Mike.....
