John Taddonio's 240Z is becoming a national icon!

While showing his immaculate 1970 240Z at Carlisle this year, our member (and PreZident of the Z Car Club of Rochester) John Taddonio was approached by Tim Suddard, the photographer and publisher of the prestigious CLASSIC MOTORSPORTS magazine. He drooled all over John's perfect car, took a ton of pictures and asked Taddo if he would give him permission to write a feature story about his Z for one of the 2017 issues? John thought about it for one-half second, said yes, and got interviewed at length for details.

This is the Zeason most people send gift subscriptions for car mags to their friends, so ClassMoto included a full-color 2017 calendar as an incentive to subscribe to (and give) their very high-class (and considerably costly) magaZine.

Without warning or expectation, John's beautiful 1970 240Z was used in the calendar to start the year off right ~ he's the feature car for January 2017   His car will still be used in a feature article in one of the 2017 issues of ClassMo.

John's 240 is one of the four "Hawaiian Pineapple" cars sold by Datsun of Honolulu during the summer of 1970. Three of those 4 cars have been found and today two of them reside in Rochester and the 3rd (mine) is here in CT. The 4th remains unaccounted for.

Congratulations, John, and thank you for representing these great cars in such an outstanding manner.  We are very proud and grateful to have this incredible car in our CTZCC Cyber Stable.

[If you're not too bashful, John, could you pleaZe add a few pictures of your car to this thread? My computer's on strike].

Frank

Thanks for the props Frank. My goal is to get as much publicity for the CLASSIC Datsun 240Z as I can, so for Classic Motorsports Magazine to put my Z front and center on their yearly calendar is a huge boost for the Z's recognition as a classic. It's about time!

The January issue of Classic Motorsports will soon be on newstands, it's a great magazine! The calendar is pretty cool too!

My Z has been a member of my family for over 37 years now and still rolling down the highway, just like me!

CONGRATULATIONS John. You and your beautiful car (baby) deserve the recognition, like any proud daddy should be of their child. Enjoy clear skies and smooth roads. 8) :D

Congratulations John....Great stuff... absolute stunning Z, calendar all ready up on the wall.
My '70 240Z HLS30-2483 was in the the Classic Motorsports calendar for February 2007.
It was also the CM/Magazine Z project car a few years ago and articles in their sister magazine Grassroots Motorsports.
It was covered in several articles, some photos attached and a link to
the CM magazine.
