Hi. New forum member here, so I'm hoping this is the right place to post this.

I'm a (relatively) new CT resident and am wondering if there are any trustworthy mechanics in the central CT area that other members would recommend for basic maintenance work and/or replacement of wear items. I've seen a lot of good chatter about RDZ both on these forums and on Facebook groups, but at over an hour away that's a bit far for me to drive for regular maintenance work.

I should add that I've got a 350Z and that I live in Newington.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

County Line is in Middlebury, near you. They sponsor our Club and let us hold meetings there each year. In fact, our next monthly meeting is scheduled for 10Aug at County Line, so you could come meet us and scope them out. Dress is very casual. Drive whatever you want, but Zs are preferred.

I appreciate the invite to the meeting, but I'll actually be away on vacation on the 10th. I will do my best to make it out to the next meeting, though. I'd love to meet some other Z enthusiasts in the area.

And thanks for the recommendation. I'll give County Line a call. For some reason I thought they were much further than they are.

EDIT: Forgot to ask: should I ask for anybody or reference anybody so that they know the recommendation came from the CTZCC club? I want to give credit where credit is due. :)

Is doing the required work yourself an option?
Depending on what it is I could help you out but I'm in Orange.

Try Hillside Automotive in Hartford. They are professional and honest. Ask for Bob or Gary.

WAIT ~ i missed a meeting!
Count Line was held in JULY, not in Aug. My bad.
Anyway, Quinn Bannon is our member there and Heir Apparent to the business. He loves Zs and if you call and ask for him, tell him you're our new member and discuss your Gremlin with him. He knows which mechanic there excels in certain issues and will steer you directly to him.

Normally it would be. Unfortunately, time is not something I have much of right now. Due to vacation and a number of other commitments, I won't have a free weekend for at least a month. I'm also not the most mechanically inclined person out there and might need more help than you'd be prepared to give. Haha. I really appreciate the offer though!

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll probably call County Line Nissan first, but if for some reason they don't work out, I'll check out Hillside Automotive.

Thanks again Frank. I'm going to try to give them a call this afternoon when I can get some free time away from work. :)

I always trust my baby to Nick at The Shop on Franklin St. in East Hartford. He is a Z owner and a trophy winner from our club. Very honest and can be counted on to be reasonable and very knowledgeable. He does all my work not only on my Z, but all my modes of transportation. Give him a call at 860-528-5999.

Thanks for the post Greg....super helpful, and I will have to give him a shot. I currently trust Prestige Auto in Seymour CT. Paul is a member of the club and runs the shop. He owns a modified 300zx.

Nope, but I like Greg's suggestion, because it will be helpful for me as well!
