Me 2  Thanks Filipe for the teespring sight. I was going to take a memorial drive today, but open the garage door to defeat. Instead, I'll just think of the man who inspired a great hobby in the last 30 years of my life, thanks Mr. K. :D

Two years ago Mad Mike Taylor from Dallas, Texas came to Europe and made a stopover
in Stuttgart where we payed a visit to the Mercedes Benz Museum. While we walked through the fabulous halls he took his mobile and said: let us call Mr. K. I asked: now? He said: yes and did it. What time in Japan? The old man still or already sleeping? It took some time and Mr. K answered. Mike gave me his phone: talk to him! What? I? Now? I stumbled things like "what a pleasure" and Mr. K said "very nice my friend". I asked him if I could send him a piece of my car for an autograph and he said again: very nice my friend :D. Before Mike left to continue his journey I gave him the cover of the glove box. Back in Dallas Mike sent the part to Tokyo. It took two or three months when he called me: your glove box cover is back, Mr. K signed it. Mike dropped it to Germany., I'm proud and glad not only for the autograph but also to have had the chance to speak to that remakable gentleman on that day in summer 2013 at the birthplace of car history.

Moments like that are just incredible. :D Some of us never got to meet Mr. K. in person, but if you take out of life what life gives you, his spirit has reached everyone who sought him, if it was the video com at zcon 2010, having someone getting his personal autograph on a item, winning something in an auction with his signature, shacking the hand of someone who shook hands with Mr. K. or just reading an article about him, and there is his picture and he's looking at you and with you at all times in the realm of the Z car.

Not a problem Karl!
----

Update:
I am EXTREMELY happy/impressed/proud of the Datsun/Nissan/Z community. 10 days ago, I created a design for a tee shirt, hoping to generate some funds to donate to Make-A-Wish in honor of Mr. K, as this was one of his favorite charities. I figured we could come up with $500...that was blown away in hours...then I set the goal at $1000...that was the next day; then I set it at 1500; done. 2000...done! 2500? DONE! The final sum was OVER TWO THOUSAND, EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS!! ($2801.24 to be exact). Everyone has blown me away. I am sure Mr. K would be extremely happy with what we have done.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your support everyone. It's amazing what a bunch of awesome people can do. We sold 332 shirts all together, and some are on the waiting list, hoping the campaign gets reactivated. Simply Amazing.

I have posted proof of donation via the pictures below. Hopefully this puts an end to the name calling and accusations that I have received both publicly and via private message over the last ten days. If you still don't believe the truth behind this, I don't think there is much more I can do.

THANK YOU EVERYONE!

Filipe, Thanks for all your work making the shirts and donating all the profits to "Make a Wish".

I just ordered my shirt. Hope you are able to do a reprint. I think I could get some ZCCNE orders if you are going to make more shirts. Please keep in touch.

Unfortunately, it looks like someone managed to get a copyright violation claim in, and tee spring shut down the second run of these shirts. The first set should still be printed, though. I don't think there will be a second run, but we will see.

Sorry to hear about the copyright violation claim. Didn't you get approval from ZCCA? Chris Karl could have helped you get approval. Perhaps "MAD" Mike can help, I believe he did the printing for Mr. K's book.

Chris Karl did approve it for me, yes, and that's why I've emailed tee spring stating that I have the necessary approvals...but they have yet to get back to me.
