To find an original 280z dashboard without a rip...........
A friend gave it to me for free. I've been looking for a dashboard for years now and have not find any without a rip.
I'm ready to spend $600. for a new refinish dashboard.
Lucky me ! I might as well buy a lotto tonight.

I cleaned it....whoaaaaaa!

 Wow, beautiful!
Work some vaseline into the whole thing every 6 months or so and it should last you a lifetime.
Nice score!

Yessir, absolutely.

For years I used ArmorAll on my dashboard until I got soundly yelled at by smarter Z owners and told to never use anything but Vaseline. I have been doing so ever since and I have to admit I can not only see a difference, but the dash has remained soft and pliable, rather than baked and brittle in the sun.

They recommended re-applying it every 4 months but I have been getting away with using it every 6 months. I would highly recommend putting on the first application while the 'board is still out of the car, too. It's a lot easier to reach the forward parts when the windscreen is out of the way.

Thanks Frank that is a great tip on maintaining the dash.
I will also share one I got from one of the owners of Zymol . . . . . have you ever been frustrated with how to get that white residue off the rubber parts left by getting wax on them ?

He told me to use Miracle Whip or just plain mayonnaise. I have used both and they both work great.

I like it. Yes, Vaseline is the one. Mayo, I don't know about organic products on my dash. Dash board is Vinyl, hence, made from petroleum product. Hence Vaseline, a petroleum product. Don't use KY, then it would be to slippery.

Neither do I Paul . . . .but on the black rubber parts that have wax residue on them . . . . it really does work quite well.
