Our Rochester member, John Taddonio (PreZident, ZCCR) has earned hmslf one more trophy with his jaw-dropping 1970 240Z.

This past weekend while we were playing at Lime Rock Park, John drove his immaculate 1970 240Z to Liverpool NY (suburb of Syracuse) and showed it in central NY's biggest annual car show, STREET SCENE 2014.

Not surpriZingly, his car won Best Old School Award from among some real competition. More than 400 cars competed in the show, and John's 240 bubbled up to the top of the stew.

As time rolls on and our cars become more and more scarce, it is becoming commonplace for good examples to earn trophies and awards anytime they are entered in shows. The 240 is TIMELESS and the younger generation today appreciates them just as much as we did when they first came out.

Congratulations once AGAIN John, and thank you for representing the Z community to the world at large. Well done, sir.

Frank T

Thanks Frank! It was an awesome show, 458 import rides and each and everyone of the young enthusiasts very proud of their cars and what they had personally done to them. I greatly enjoyed talking with all of them about everything cars, no generation gap on that day.

My 240Z gathered much attention and respect from everyone. I was happy to accept the "Best Old School" award which was made on a skateboard, very appropriate. The younger generation all know about the "legendary" 240Z and were happy to see one up close and personal. It was as if BABE RUTH showed up at an all-star game today with the modern young stars. They were starstruck! lol

Thank you everyone, it was a great show, lots of fun with the new generation of car enthusiasts. It was great to see that they appreciated the 240Z.

This weekend it's off to Saratoga Springs NY where my 240Z is entered in Hemmings Sports & Exotic Car magazine's national show. Datsun/Nissan is a featured class for the first time so I am excited to be representing the marque. Here's some info about the show: http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/cate ... gs-events/

I'll report next week, wish me luck! :)

Well John, I've been watching the Saratoga Springs weather all weekend, and it appears you guyz might have got rained on pretty heavily ystrdy, so maybe the show was moved to today?

A few years ago some CTZCC members reported that their cars had been assigned spaces under the pine trees, and some sap dripped on them. Hope that has been corrected.

We know you have over 220 miles to drive to get back home. We're all waiting for the updates as soon as you get home and dry the Z off!

Sorry for the delay in responding, but I've been on vacation for the past two weeks....

The Hemmings show in Saratoga Springs was awesome. Every car on the show field, about 250, was virtually flawless. From Ferraris to VWs, classics were everywhere. The Best of show award went to a rare 1931 Maserati "road car" that the owner had bought in Europe and spend an ungodly amount of money in a perfect restoration. Datsun/Nissan was a featured marque and there were about 20 Zs displayed. My car got a lot of attention and was by far the winner in the "most pictures taken of" category  . Awards were judged by Hemmings' editorial staff and it seemed that they leaned toward "factory stock" when it came to the judging. In the Datsun class a marvelous 1971 240Z took second place, it was wonderfully restored by its owner, Matthew Mathosian of the NYZCC. First place went to a Nissan Factory restored 1972 240Z.

I've put more miles on the 240Z this year than ever since it's been restored and yesterday participated in the Ontario Z Club's "Z FEST" held at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton, Ontario. This was a Z only show with 169 Z-Cars on the show field! My 240Z represented, taking first place in the S30 class (240/260/280Z). It was a great day and my aviation twin was in attendance, so I just had to take a pic! :D

Next up: The Watkins Glen Grand Prix Concourse on September 5!

Hey John, I bet the Z gets the garage.

Nice job, car looks super and it's nice to see S30's doing so well.

["Hey John, I bet the Z gets the garage"].

Actually, I undrstnd John leaves his Z in the downtown Rochester Park and Ride lot, because it's free parking. Is that right, John?

I think the family bicycles and dog get the garage. 8)

NOT exactly.....

I'm fortunate to have a BIG garage that is divided into 3 car/1.5 car. My wife gets the 1.5, the Zs get the rest.

Sounds fair to me!
