Attleboro police adviZe the VIN on this cah is HLS30-52858.

Plz help find it.

(How do I do that, Frank?)

Well, if you zee it anywhere, call 911 for the local police where ever you spot it. Tell them you're following (or see parked) a suspected stolen car. Try to keep it in sight until the police can intercept it. Be aware of your streets and directions. Street numbers or landmarks are useful as you tell the dispatcher where you are. Stay at a safe distance. If he's driving like he stole it, don't chase after him. Just report the last known direction and street, and describe the cah and the driver and passengers, if possible.

When the cops stop him, don't interfere until they ask for you. Just stay in your car and maybe take a video for You Tube!

(And there's only one "L" in stolen).

Ahhhh, maybe that's the explanation why I got pulled over on a test run Tuesday just before sunset. :x Doing nothing wrong, cop said routine check, didn't see a inspection sticker at first, but realized it is registered as a Antique. Just checked my papers and said have a nice day. :D It's a white 72 after all. Well I will defiantly keep my eye out. But I think until it's found I should stay home.

This is my car.
Thank you so much for spreading the word and for all of your help.
Im not home yet, but Im close enough to see your work and dedication to other Z lovers. Attached is a picture of the car the day I had it returned. Everything stereo related is gone, but I can live with that. Ignition was totally trashed, but my old man picked one up at Z Docs in Tampa and had it shipped. Its at the house waiting to go in when I get home.

Figures, I lived in CT for several years and never really joined a Z club.
Im stationed back in NE (living in East Providence RI) and perhaps now its time.

Hi there!

I just received your application, and it sounded awfully familiar, FL through me off though!

We're glad you came here, we're actually working on getting you some stuff behind the scenes (Just kidding, it's public knowledge!) our member Paul in RI got in touch with someone on your end. You can view the thread here:

http://forums.ctzcc.com/viewtopic.php?t=7977

We're very, very happy you found it. I for one would lose my mind if my Z was stolen.

Filipe

P.S. Thanks for serving!

We are all elated this car has been found and returned to you. It gives me the willies to zee a Z damaged like that ~ and the dummy who stole it doesn't know enough about Z cars to know it could have been done with FAR less damage.

We have several active members in RI and are happy to welcome you among us! We also have a bunch of spare parts which we would be glad to help you with, as needed.

We're proud of you for serving, and we're proud of you for keeping this classic on the road. Much praise goes to your wife for selecting this outstanding 240 as her gift to you! Good taste in machinery!

Please let us know what we can do to help get you back on the road by the next Zeason. Many of us in here are veterans and would feel better if we could help you out.

Hope you get shore leave for Christmas!

Frank T

Thanks again! Yes, the Mrs knows her husband and also has a great taste in machinery! I had am orange 73 years ago that I had to part with, and after selling my truck, she had this one ("Old Speeder" as my son named it) waiting at the pier after a deployment. It was great.

I look forward to getting her on the road again. I was hoping to be able to repair the door, but they really mangled it getting the lock out. There was alot of bondo hiding in there too, which was disappointing. I appreciate all the help. I may come to you once I return as I just dont have alot of the tools I would need for some of these things. Im lookng to get a sandblaster and a welder one of these days so I can fix her up right. Simple fixes will have to do in the meantime :D

Been there, done that, retired from it. 8) I can count on one hand the number of holidays I had off in 25 years of honest and faithful service to Uncle. I feel yer pain.

Hey glad you tuned in. Coast Guard, got it now. I like your attitude, it's a dirty job, but someones got to do it. So for that, you are in good hands and will try hard to care of this. I'm just waiting for a pic to see the door I found for $100. (in Peabody) Take care, talk soon.

How about the STORY of how the car was found - when the Police got involved and how it was returned? Who found it, etc etc.

What's the whole story - the guy that stole it certainly didn't put it on Craigs list did he?… da…
