Edit--- 10/26/20 --- This was a farewell/see yah later post a while back... But Ill turn in into a bit of a update on my Datsun Projects. Shoot over to Page 2 for more.

----------------------------

Wasn't sure where to put this but just wanted to say a public farewell and z yah later. Was hoping to make it to the Fall Outing but mech work on the Truck was a priority.

It has been great to be a part of such and welcoming and friendly club. So many great cars and great people. I say this as a "z yah later" as I will still be around on the boards here from time to time, and if a trip home coincides with a meet I will be there.

As most of you know, I am headed west to the land called California- more specifically the San Francisco area. A Datsun paradise lol - lots of fellow Datsunholics and parts too  Ill keep my eyes peeled for good options for you guys back east here, and if you have any potential needs or are stuck in a bind give me a shout I can check out the local yards and see if there is anything for you.

Thanks Again! it truly have been great to be a part of this group-

Z Yah Later
Devon and his Nickle Dime

Well, you can't quit a free Club, so you're still our member. I bought a farewell gift for you on behalf of the Club, but you couldn't make the picnic. Still have it.
We enjoyed your company, your input and your car. Thanks for all the fun info you've shared with us on the Club website.

i personally think it's outrageous that you would even consider leaving this paradiZe and living over the San Andreas Faultline, but that's your own business. No limit to the great car clubs out there, and you will no doubt be welcomed with open arms.
Keep in touch with us, keep your 510 running, don't let it get stolen, and we'll Zee you at some future AutoX.

Frank T

Man, I'm going to miss you a lot! It's been great racing with you this year. A lot of unforgettable moments (especially when we save each others' butts when things break).

Thanks again for a great season and I hope you get the datsun to lay down some rubber on pavement out there soon! Can't wait for the next time we hit the track together.

Take care and keep in touch. I demand go-pro footage of every racing event you go to... :P

Justin, you're going off to the Army soon, anyway. They'll have you AutoCrossing tanks and self-propelled cannons pretty soon, and you won't have time to think about your Z. Devon will be writing to us more than you will!

Well shucks Frank... even more bummed I didnt make it to the picnic... I guess I got out of the speech though-

And I guess your right - can t quit a free club, so member for life.

As I said lots of Datsun parts out there. Although for the immediate future the nickle dime will be hidden away in a garage in fairfield until I get settled in and ship it out. Good luck finding it 8) and Justin no helping them!

Ripped her up to work today, and probably around a bit more tomorrow morning before tucking her away.

Ill keep her running strong out there though (even though my lease says no mechanical work on the premises)

Cant wait to race her again- thanks again Justin for all the help at the AutoX so glad I joined this year ... its an addiction.

If anyone is up for a grabbing a quick coffee or something tomorrow morning- within a reasonable distance of fairfield I might be able to sneak one last cruise in.

And as always if you find yourself in SF and need a place to crash or to satisfy your Datsun fix let me know!

Hey All-

Its been a long 4 years away, but I am excited to say that I am now back east! Up in the Boston area, but the car is down in CT for the near future.

The car has been through a number of changes since you last all saw it, including a full suspension rework, brake upgrade, and now a KA swap.

Still working out a number of the kinks on it, but it is running!

Looking forward to reconnecting in the spring.

Some photos for fun!

WELCOME BACK to the rust coast, Dev! Glad to have you "home"! You're just in time for the 2017 Annual Fall Outing picnic this weekend (21Oct) at Ross' mansion in Darien. Please come and tell us stories about SF and more stories about why you came back.
Seems so weird to zee your 510 wearing California plates! :D
Vinny Bedini will be glad you brought your car back here, as will the rest of us.
Zee you at the picnic this Saturday!

Thanks Frank!

It actually wore CT plates up until about a month ago!

I wish I could attend - unfortunately I am stuck going to a wedding on Saturday on Long Island. Missing out on another one...

As of right now the car still needs some love before its ready for any long drives as well so not sure it would make it down to Darien either.
-a few electrical gremlins to chase down (most importantly the TPS sensor)
-a very loud transmission (3rd and 4th whirr/grind that is quite loud on decel)
-exhaust is quite hobbled together, need to get it to an exhaust shop

Wish I could make it.

Ill keep an eye out for any remaining events before the winter truly hits. If not definitely in the spring.
