High Ridge road seems like the place to spot cars! Right across the street from where I saw the Diablo: Daphne encounters a 911 Classic!

Right across the street was where I spotted the 240Z that was for sale. Daisy Encounters a 1972 Datsun 240Z!

If someone will pay 6k for Daphne id be willing to part with her(this sounds horrible). Otherwise ill finish up the interior and paint her myself over the winter and list in the spring when everyone is trying to get into a Z. I get pretty bored when I find I have no work to do on my car which is the reason I sold my 260Z and the reason im now selling my 240Z. Ideally id pick up a beater and a big project that I can work on over the winter. Ive got my eye on a project Z and also something a little more obscure and a lot lighter, smaller, and rarer.

If I do end up getting my hands on the Europa special, itll only be a matter of time before im back in a Z

That's a Lotus Europa, and if you buy that you'll end up regretting it. Most complicated engine outside of Italy, ZERO visibility to the rear regardless how many mirrors you put on it, and you have to get down on your hands and knees to enter/exit the seats. If this thing is sitting idle in a junkyard, it belongs there. There's something wrong with it which mortal men can't fix, or it would be on the road.

What about a nice local ZX which has been well cared for and is known to the Club?

Wouldnt you know its surrounded by a bunch of Maseratis? Dont think the Europa can be that bad since its powered by a 105 bhp 1557cc Lotus-Ford Twin Cam engine(Popular engine swaps are from later ford I4s). That lot has a number of cars in it including a bunch of Jaguar MK2's, Maserati Quattroportes, and even a Maserati Merak. They get a number of exotics in for restoration and have a ton that have been sitting for quite some time.

Provided the price is right, the best case scenario is where I pick up the car, get it running and driving then sell it. Worst case scenario, I pick up the car, clean it up a bit and then flip it. Absolute worst case scenario the car is not for sale and they wish to keep that corner of the lot as is. As for the ZX, I think the only other Z that can pull me away from the S30 is the Z31

I'm no Europa expert, but I believe that may be a twin cam JPS (John Player Special) version. If so, that's a fairly rare specimen - I believe they're sought after by the Lotus guys. If it's the real thing, could be a good 'flip' opportunity...

I was hoping it was a JPS version but it looks like it has the stock emissions carbs. Perhaps SU's would fit? It all depends if I can sell my car and get my hands on the europa for a good price

I might remember this wrong, but I thought the JPS had the Webers. This one has the English version of the Hitachi flattop SUs (less performance) which makes the car maybe a 1973?. My Lieutenant had one in the Corps. He was our Range Officer and during the 18 months I served him as Range NCO, he put four of our Marines in the horsepistol by backing over them. They all got knee/ankle injuries and one of them had to be surveyed. You just can't see backwards in these cars.
You might have a lot more fun buying that disheveled Jag sedan in the background and putting a small Turbo V6 (Ford or Buick) into it. Of course then you'd join some other club and we'd never zee you again.....

Where is this lot, please?

I didn't think the JPS had carbs, but could be wrong. Thought it was mechanical Fuel Injection. I myself would rather have the Esprite S3 turbo. Can be found for under $15,000. One in NH for sale now. BTW, all Lotus cars star with "E". Yep, one of my favorites.

My favorite Lotus, Colin Chapman's first car, the 1958-'63 Elite. Fiberglass ("glass fiber") monocoque body, sliding windows, coupe only, 4cyl OHC 1,000lb giant killer.

THIS was the Lotus to which that 'championship' decal refers. It won it's class at LeMans six times. This is also the very car which developed the 'new' 'Champman Strut' suspension which is used on our S30 Z cars.

Race driver David Hobbs put an automatic transmission in one of these and was untouchable for two years. The car ran better with an AT than it did with the standard Moss crash box 4-spd.

The sides have "World Championship Car Constructors" listing a few years with the latest being 1973 so its probably a 1973/74/75. The specials had the Dellorto carbs that looked like webers, this one has stromberg carbs (with a rebuild kit in the luggage compartment ) which look a bit like SU's.

This lot is in random corner of Stamford. Im keeping it under wraps until I can verify the status on the Merak and the Europa 8), but I can let you know id youre interested in the MK2s or quattroportes. When I contacted the owner a few years back, he told me that a few of the cars had owners but im pretty sure the MK2s and quattroportes could be snagged for a few hundred if anyones interested. Also know a few other cool car locations like a Delorean that had been in an accident

Before I left with a friend to the lot: Daisy encounters a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon!:

 Ooohhhh!

XK-140. Hope there's enough of it left to restore. I've always lusted over the XK-150S fixed head coupe, but I'll never afford one. Earlier picture shows Alfa Romeo Spyder, late model XK-E and old Austin Healey.

Lucas, Prince of Darkness, rules that corner of the lot.

I also spy a FIAT 124 Spyder hiding in the background.
