Yeahhhh.....almost! Sort of looks 'muddy' like that, so I would want it slightly darker, like a pewter. Also, those vented inspection lids are only black now until the car gets repainted.

Im planning on painting my Z "Pearlescent Pewter". It's actually a darker shade than what Mike has shown here (altho you have to admit, he did an incredible job making the sunshine reflect in mud!)

It won't happen until I kill a few doZen financial dragons. I'll just have to live with the horrible blue until then.

Frank

Uh.... the beautiful blue is what makes your car stand out from the rest. And I mean that in a very good way, Frank!

I didn't realize you hated the color :(

This is the color the car was when I found it again, after selling it 24 yrs ago. When new, it was Silver. I painted it metalflake copper in 1976 and Datsun stole my idea, releasing the new 280 in metalflake copper, too! :? I had a totally unique Z for only a few months.

I sold the car in mid-1980s and when I found it again it was this "BLUUUUU" color. Pretty color, but it just doesn't belong on a 240Z (in my humble opinion). It cost a lot to rehab the car to the mechanical and safety levels I wanted, so now I'm saving to have it repainted.

Betcha Vinny has some contacts that he could subcontract that work to,
getting a professional job done while saving money in the process!

Anybody knows that 919 Sunshine Yellow is the best 240Z color. Which
is why I have a dilemma: when I get the '70 redone, do I get it done
in the yellow or in the original 918 burnt orange?

I would love to do the Code 51 Corvette yellow from the '70s, or the
equivalent Porsche, VW, or Mustang color. I even saw a nice yellow
with a metallic in it of all things, but forgot what kind of car it was on.
But then I think about my penchant for originality.

Problems, problems!
Decisions, decisions!

Wellll, I could still have Earl Schieb paint it for $100.

No, I'm saving to have our member Jim Kinsella paint the car. He has done some absolutely astounding work on other Zs.
