Yeah I had to stop by my garage and put one of my old rims on that has a new tire on it so thats the second pic. Then I liked them so much back on I decided I'm going to swap my other tires onto the other 2 wheels. So right now the back have appliance wheels on the back and my other rims on the front. Feels much better now. And yep 4 lugs on both back wheels.

I've had a lot of blowouts over the years, but I don't remember any happening on the Z. Two flats I recall, but they gave me plenty of warning and took only minutes to change.

ALWAYS walk around your car before you drive. I know most of us don't, but it's the reason pilots race to their aircraft, then perform a slow and thorough pre-flight.

I'm glad you caught this before it caught you.

Come to think of it, I do recall a single blowout on a Z I owned. The Club parts car was up on 4 jackstands last year, completely suspended in air, with no pressure on any tires. One day I went to the car and found a tire had blown out directly downward with such force that it dug a hole in the gravel driveway. The tires all had 3/4" of tread left on them. The tire blew out THROUGH the tread, not out the sidewall.

Weird things happen under pressure.

yeah i think from now on i am gonna check every little thing i feel that doesn't feel right. well hopefully before this weekend i have the two front rims swapped over and finally say goodbye to those white walls i had on my appliance rims. :D and since Clayton is kayaking as much as he can i will be postponing project dangerous Z until i get the green light from Clayton. so i should make it to the last couple gatherings in my Z not in my van. :D heck i even got around to finally changing my marker plate bulbs and i changed the engine light to the one i got at the free table at the outing. i even have a working dome light now. now that things have slowed down it's time to take care of those small things.

I found a picture of that weird "no speed" blowout. It came straight thru the tread, not out the side as you might expect.
