Frank i agree about the roofline. but the Z32 pulled off not messing with the roofline. so with todays technology my design could be possible. and i didn't alter the lines of the car. all i did was shorten the doors to allow room for a suicide door. and with the updates in suspension, wheels, and better drivetrains a 2+2 would be able to be just as fun to drive as a 2 seater. you got to think outside the box guys.

and a 2+2 Z owner is not a real man???  (not touching this one)

it's funny when i joined this club i was against automatic Z's and 2+2's now meeting people in the club that have a passion for them i respect them and see why they love them.
but the main reason i didn't like the 2+2 was because of the design. until i saw the Z32 and that makes me believe a nice 2+2 could be made now.
so all 2+2 owners out there you are driving a sportscar in my book cause it's a Z!

No no, don't misunderstand me. I'm referring to the S-1 cars. There's no contest about the Z32 ~ it wasn't even in my thoughts. I have no doubt in my tiny mind that a Z32 2+2 (and some 2+2 Z31 Turbos) could run circles around the S-1 in some categories.

I just wish they had left the S-1 carz alone. They were headed for Graceland when they stuffed two more seats into them.

Well after following this thread for awhile now I have to say that the debate is starting to sound like what I would read on some "purist" Z websites.

While I personally don't like the look of certain 2+2 models (e.g. series one), if a 2+2 owner is in this club, by default I like him and his car. Is it beautiful? Is it a sports car? If he thinks it is - so do I.

yeah S30's look really weird. it was definitely an after thought. S130's also same roof line issue. but the Z31's slightly better and the Z32's were done very nicely. which brings me to the conclusion that a 370Z 2+2 would look good. not saying the backseats would be comfortable but they would be functional.

to end the debate.

2 things we all agreed on.

1 - a Z is a sportscar.
2 - a 2+2 is a Z.

this would mean a Z 2 seats or 4 is a sportscar. :D :D :D :D :D

All squares are rectangles but not every rectangle is a square. Rectangles being Z's, of course.

That being said, I know of at least one series one 2+2 that looks VERY nice, and wouldn't mind owning it. Too bad the car's in Ireland.

Nice job on the photo shopping as well. You have a knack for image editing.

Never. I junked it.

Got so sick of looking at it in the garage that I had the local vehicle wrecker come and take it away for crushing. Figured if I couldn't enjoy it, no one could. You know, "scorched earth" policy.

Don't look for the Phrog we know from here on out. :?
He is going to have a Pinocchio nose the next time you look for him.

BTW referring to Ross' comment, I guess I should be the purest purist of
them all. But having seen Jim and Lisa Jackson's RHD 260Z 2+2...........

The truth of the matter is that I need to sell off my Harley to pay off my new Mazda mule car. Until then, nothing gets done to the Z unless it doesn't cost money.

Even though I'm not a 2+2 guy, I agree it's a Z and can still find beauty in it. There are some out there that have got my interest no doubt. If I was to ever have one it would be the Z32, black seams to look the best to me, would be automatic and just be my cruising car. I have enough Z Sports cars.

Hey Mike , the design is pretty impressive. 2+2 or not it's still a Z to me. You should give a demo on how you applied the changes at the next meet because people like myself are still trying to figure out how to add a picture to my post! :x
