I found "OURZ", an '07 350Z roadster, through autotrader.com. I thought I did well buying the car from an individual in New Hampshire. There was some negotiation but not a lot. The seller was reluctant to accept an out of state bank check but with a way to verify the validity of the check, he was satisfied. Having only 6000 miles, the car's history was brief and well documented.

My brother purchased his '06 Z through Ebay. He too is very satisfied with his Z. I don't think I would do it that way but if you think about it... you are still dealing with a stranger.

Good luck with your quest.

I taught my daughter to drive stick years ago. It was "quite" an experience. Find a non-relative to teach you.

Thanks for all the advice! I've been using Autotrader and Craigslist a lot, but I'm aiming to deal with a dealer before I go with a private party; the dealer could potentially make unloading my current car much easier in the process.

But, as for stickshift lessons - anybody feel like helping me out this week, some evening?

No problem to me. It's about an hour's drive down to Fairfield from here, and I get out of work at 3:30. I can definitely be down there after six, and I don't mind making the drive at all.

Thursday sounds good. I'm not sure where the biggest empty parking lots are after 6PM...

Alright! I'll be leaving in about an hour, then. I'll call you when I'm nearby.
