Most first generation Z owners view 280zx and zxt's solely as parts donators. At least this 280zxt won't be canabalized anytime soon.

I'm very surprised that the owner sold this car. I have spoken with Frank the owner many times and he always spoke very proudly of it. BTW, I verified that only three 81 280zxt's were manufactured in this silver over black color scheme using my 81 280zxt VIN database. Being a Florida car, maybe Jim Frederick has added it to has garage!

Nice to see a 280zxt command such a high price (as long as it's not a scammer!!)

Phil

His synopsis of this car is detailed and convincing, and he even provides numerous walk-around videos of it. If it's a scam, he's certainly worked hard for whatever he gets from it!

My guess is this guy really loves this car. It will certainly sell, and he will certainly regret it later.

Mine isn't even HALF the car that one is, and it will NEVER be for sale. I can't imagine how he must feel, letting it go. His boys will grow up and leave home all too soon; I fear for his sanity when he finds both his nest and his garage empty after he retires.

Maybe he'll spend 23 years tracking this car down and buying it back!

Frank, the seller and car are 100 percent real. My comment regarding a scammer was relates to the buyer. However, reading his answers to submitted questions, I believe the buyer is a "respected collector". Like I mentioned I was the source of his color scheme claim of only three being silver over black with my harvesting of 81 280ZXT VINs from the FAST database.

Hi Guys:
I know the car and it's previous owner. No question is is One of the nicest - However an 83 with 1900 miles {or something like that} went for $29K last year ...

#1 Condition, 280ZX Turbo's have been bringing very respectfully retail prices for quite some time now. 82 & 83's bring the highest dollars with the 5spd. - the 81 A/T usually sell for less.

I also agree that the car sold in part because it was photographed well and documented well.

Your right Frank - he really did love that car... but what's a Father to do..

Whoever bought this car got a bargain.

FWIW,
Carl B.
