Four years ago TODAY, on 10Aug2009, an unknown couple walked out of the crowd at a local carshow and told Phrog they owned the first Z.

Chris immediately latched onto them and dragged them across the lot to other CTZCC members and dutifully reported, "this guy says he owns a *REALLY OLD* Z car!!!". The rest is history.

FAST-FORWARD TO SEPTEMBER 2021:

I just wanted to re-boot this 12-year-old thread for an update. As you all know, both these cars have recently been sold to our member (and PreZident of the Sun Coast Z Car Club in Florida), Jimbo Frederick. Jim has about 2 doZen very early 240-Zs in what must be the country's best Z collection. He restores them to perfection.

Jim has recently begun working on #171, adhering to his pledge to Rick Morgan that he would keep the car as close to 100% original as possible.

Jimbo will update us about the condition of the cars when he received them, and what is being done to them to make them reliable and roadworthy.
Stay tuned for his coming entires.

Frank

Upate August 2022!

Well, this entire event took place "13" years ago this week, when we first met Rick Morgan, saw Lucky 13, and notified the world.

Both Lucky #13 and car #171 have changed hands from one of our members (Rick Morgan) to another (Jim Frederick), but they are still in the CTZCC stables.

A lot of water has flowed under our bridge since then, but this internationally-important event began right here, with YOUR Club, 13 years ago  8)

Any info on the status of the cars Frank, in terms of their restoration/rehabilitation?

#13 runs and drives great at last info. #171 had to be torn down to free the engine, but was kept as original as possible. They have both been cleaned up and look 100% original and new. I will search for some pictures.

I got to see them last December, engine was rebuilt for 171 and on a stand in front of the car. #13 was over in the corner covered.
