So my Dad had the honor of being at a Lime Rock test day last week...to witness the legend...back in action. As most folks know, Bob has acquired and tweaked a GTU tribute car, replete with the BSR paint scheme.

Last week was a shakedown run, that turned into a Photo op. You will also see the BSR Sam Posey GTU car, now owned by Dr. Allan Robbins, which was on-hand.

I'm sure we'll be getting more details and pictures from that day, as things develop, but here is a little teaser. Needless to say, I'm just a bit jealous of my Dad.

BTW - Anyone who will be at this Wednesday's meeting can ask my Dad about the day...and Vinny Bedini, who was also on-hand, may share some stories if you twist his arm.

DANG! THAT'S GREAT!

Which car is which?? Only the wheels differ, and they get changed in the pits according to track conditions.

It's great to see Bob suited up again ~ that's the way I remember him from the 1970s, when he championed the 240Z. Like seeing a Knight back on the horse again, armor and sword in hand.

I can only imagine what it must be like for Bob to be back in either of those cars again.

Yes, it must've been a sight...I so wish I was there.

The one with the mesh (SSR or BBS?) wheels and 240z tail light panel is Bob's car. The one with the Panasports (or Superlites?) and 280z rear panel is the Dr. Allan Robbins car.

When Bob mentioned that he was going to run his Z at Lime Rock on 8/4. I was tempted to take a day off, sneak off to Limerock, hide in the bushes and snap some pictures. Unfortunately I was out of town last week.
