Hey Everyone.....
Hope you all are doing well, and enjoying the new Z season!!!

I Finally got my hands on a decent Z.......The first time I've owned a Z31 series. It's a 86' 300ZX.....ten yrs. newer then my 280, and alot faster, toooooooooo!!!
You were right AJ, good things come to those who wait! It's got 218,000 miles, but runs very strong!! Are these motors supposed to last for 300-400 miles?? I'm sure if it was and is taken care of, it will.....
It's got T-tops, ac, a decent interior, one minor scratch in the front rght. fender, a good base to work with.

BG!

Nice 86 Gar, didn't expect that from you. :D Well the most critical thing is the timing belt, if that breaks, kiss your valves good buy. Every 60,000 miles on that. So 240,00 is the next time, "IF" you know it's been done at 180,000 miles. Then might as well install the water pump, thermostat and I would put a new tension bearing in. If you see your radiator is rotten, that comes out the front bumper, and the biggest thing there is all the small bolts that can snap,so I would keep them soaked with PB in case you ever have to go there. Also, it's a first gen 86, just so you know, they changed body style half way through. If it ever just dies on you, the distributor is the most likley cause. Goodluck with her, and sorry, I have no parts for it. :(

Hi All..........

Thanxxz for being happy for me Frank, and yes Ross you will see me more now that I have a reliable set of wheels......
Yes AJ, It is "sweet"!! Got my radio hooked up, window regulator welded back together, it had 2 cracks that prevented it from working properly. Now it works great!! Power windows are sooooooo cool!!! I've changed the oil, rotated tires and the brakes are almost new.....
The idle is running at 1,200 rpms, I guess that's controlled by the computer, no way to turn it down? I do have a little body work to do, but nothing like the 280.
I've got a few new body panels for a 280 coupe, and many parts, if I can't find a shell to transfer parts into, they will be on sale sooooon, so let me know if you need something and I'll let you know if I've got it....

Thanxxz Phil and everyone!! It's got a V6, 3000? Seems like a strong motor.......my hopes are to get her painted the original color and upgrade it from there. Maybe a cold air intake? And whatever inexpensive improvements I can make for more power?

Hi idle, might have a vacuum leak, and don't forget that timing belt. Or you'll have a dead horse sitting around like mine. (I bought it that way though)
