The message below is from Pete Brock and was sent to all Z club president's:

At the end of 1965 I left Shelby American and the world of Cobra racing to start Brock Racing Enterprises (BRE). Thru a series of events, I partnered with Datsun in late 1967 and began developing and racing the BRE Datsun in 1968. After five successful and fun years of Championship wins (two of which were with the BRE 240Zs in 1970 and 71), the racing world had changed enough that I left automotive racing and moved into the exciting new world of ultra light flight.

Through the years, though, I've kept in touch with the BRE Datsun enthusiasts all over the world and have been impressed with their activities... and their memories! Several years ago my wife, Gayle, took on the task of archiving the BRE Datsun years. Cataloging hundreds of photos, posters, team apparel, memorabilia and even spark plugs from our old dyno room. She realized how many people would love to share in her discoveries. In 2005 Gayle left her corporate job and created our BRE website offering reprints of archive photos, original and reproduction, posters, some great artwork we commissioned, a line of apparel, which includes both original and new designs, and fun stuff like mugs and key rings and the best looking BRE 240Z lapel/hat pin you'll ever see. We also send out a monthly newsletter which chronicles our current Datsun-related projects and activities. We've created a club for people who have "clones" of the BRE cars (the BRE Tribute Vehicle Program) and we're working on a really cool event in 2010 to showcase them. Fun!! And now that our photos from those years are readily available, we've created some great presentations with them. I enjoy meeting and speaking to various groups about the early history of sports car racing, of BRE and the cars we all love.

We wanted to send you this note to let you know of all of this activity, in case you weren't already part of the BRE community. And in addition to all of the above, we love hearing from you. Especially receiving photos of your cars is a real treat for us. Our website is www.bre2.net and in the INFO section on the website there's a place you can sign-up for our newsletter.
