While my nephew was home from college he stopped by the grandparents to visit . Since I keep the Z there for the winter I brought him out to the garage as he had never seen it before . He has only vague memories of riding around in my 82ZX when he was 3 . One look and he was completely taken with the car . He said it was a cross between a jag e-type and a porsche . (Also check out the front end on a 1970 Ford King Cobra and tell me if those headlight scoops don't look familar) . He wants to help work on it so I guess I'll have to find somthing to take apart during spring break . It's good to know the legacy of the Z will continue in the family .

What a great feeling ~ knowing that something which inspires your generation also reaches across the age barrier and touches the younger minds (sort of like old Rock & Roll, you know?).

Makes you feel like you're working with a bit of immortality, huh?

I envy this kid ~ in 2040, when he's just turning grey and working on his 2nd or 3rd 5.0L "Z", he'll stop, wipe his hands with a red shop rag, and walk his own little nephew out to the barn to see his olddddd 280Z. And what stories he'll share about his old Uncle Jimmy, back in the day.

Maybe he'll even let the kid wear his CTZCC ballcap!
