Hi All....

I'd like to say "hi" to all, and to keep you up to date on my progress. In the last two mnths, I have changed front pads, turned rotors, back shoes, turned drums, had a rocker panel installed, rear quarter panel repair piece, front fender repair panel, did alot of body work, repainted rear tail light inserts, tuned up engine with, new plugs, air filter, oil change, new sp. plug cap, wires, rotor, changed vacuum hoses on motor, new fuel hoses on rail, fuel pump, fuel line from pump in rear to filter in front, 2 new rear wheel cylinders, brake lines in rear, adjusted e-brake cable, and painted hatch door struts, and worked on interior. Installed stereo and speakers, painted rims the color of car......and STILL lots to do before the 18th.......
And finally got a "decent" paint job.... I'd like to introduce my "NEW", Z.......
Still have too paint 2 rims, and get my passenger seat out of my buddies storage trailer! Anyone have a decent carpet kit (black) for it????
Looking forward to seeing and meeting you all, who have been so helpful, and seeing all those beautiful Z cars......If you'd like to see my LIFE for the last 2 mnths., checkout MY RIDES!! thanxxx. :D Thanxx again Frank for the micro fiche site on the puter'. Ross asked if whoever gets my Z going, could take it for a spin........yes, Frank, but PLEASE drive carefully!!!!!

take care ALL,

Biggar

WOWWWWW~
Gary, I've been following you almost step-by-step thru this process all year long and I have to say you've done yrslf a proud job. That's a beautiful color for a Z car and it looks great on your new bodywork!

Actually it was our Club photographer Phil280zx who sent you the MicroFische site and that happened SOooooo long ago I just now remembered the electrical problems you were having when you first started this year-long project!

We all look fwd to meeting you in person at the 18Oct picnic and shaking your hand for a Job Well Done. YES, I would love to take your beautiful 280z for a spin around the block, thank you very much :D

Congratulations Gary ~ you now officially have more money invested in your restoration than my car is probably worth!

Frank

Hey Gary,
It's been fascinating to follow your progress and thanks for posting pictures along the way. The results of the rear fender repair are simply amazing! Can't wait to check out your ride up close. If I were you, I would take some collateral when Frank gets in your car for a ride. Otherwise you may never see it again! Thanks for sharing your story and please continue to do so. Ross

I forgot!! Thannxx too you to Phil.....The micro fiche site was a GOD send!! It really put me on the right track. I'd like to be a mechanic on OLD school Z's, but who wouldn't ? And I'll bet you have more money invested in your Z, than I do, Frank! nanana na..........lol
My mechanic friend who cut the windshield wiper power wire at the motor, duh!!! Calls it a "COFFEE TABLE".....just "MADE" me want to get her going, all the more!! He was very helpful, letting me use his tools and giving me nuts and bolts.........maybe he "felt" a little "guilty" for my harness fry? I don't know for sure if he caused it, but it gave me a chance to take it off the road and do some repairs!! I just got back my ignition tumbler with a "set" of NEW keys!! Cost? $25!!! I had lost my keys, they kept falling out when going over a bump, anywhoooo! Now to paint the valve cover, and get some shiny new bolts. Put the newly painted rear hatch louver on ......and work, work, work.. It's been a long road and I see light at the end of the tunnel!!! I'll be heading south on the 18th!! See you all soon,

BG!

BigGar, looks great!! I'm impressed how much you've gotten done in the past few weeks!!

BTW, I also was in NH in 2003 for the convention. You can see my Z in your picture. I'm in the row behind you, just over your right headlight bucket. Small Z world, isn't it!!

Phil

The car looks great . I don't know if this is the case for you but just the bottoms were rotted on my doors . I bought patch panels to replace them . Quite a bit of welding and sanding and @#$* but it worked and I'm a novice at the body work . If I remember they were about $50 or so for each side which is not bad . Jim

And it looks great from here!

Let me search my garage ~ I have a new set of black door skins, so I might also have a set of old ones which you could have at the picnic.

No promises ~ but if they're there, they're yours.

Hi Frank,

Thanxx for the offer.... that would be GREAT.....if you have them. Thank you for "appreciating" my hard work, and complimenting my choice of colors. Not BRG, but looks awesome anyhooo! So far so good!! Have to transfer registration from truck to Z, and make sure it's road worthy for a couple weeks before heading south. I'm planning on being at Ross's on the 18th. ZEYA sooooon,

B.G.
