Post subject:  Middletown Nissan has a new 2023 Z
Hello everyone,

I passed by Middletown Nissan today and saw this beauty in the showroom so I had to stop. It's a grey automatic, 2 tone with black roof, looks great. But the markup has tripled. 30K! And you don't even get a spare tire anymore, just a bottle to pump up the flat tire, the Bose amplifier is now in its place.

This is exactly what happened to the original 240Z. They arrived at their dealer with a price tag of around $3,400, but the dealer then tacked-on a basketful of dealer options to make himself more profit. 5 Slot mag wheels, door protection strips, bumper over-riders, ANSA dual exhaust systems, rear hatch shades, etc. They all added $ to the dealer's pocket and expense to the poor guy who had waited 6 months for his new 240 to arrive.
In this case, I don't even see any added options: they just throw $20-$30,000 onto the sticker price and if you want the car, that's what you pay. :?

Yep, at 10K markup they were flying out of the showroom, it will be interesting to see if the 30K markup keeps this one around a bit longer.

What was that rumor we heard during the last meeting, about somebody who bought a new Z and immediately stripped it down to make a race car? Was that true?

Dealer in LI wants 17k over MSRP on a new Z. That’s almost the cost of 2 240z race car projects:)

Yep, I heard from the folks at Grossman Nissan that their Z was sold to someone who owned a speed shop in the New Haven area(?) and converted it to a drag/race car. :shock:
