Shelby Hill at Grossman Nissan just sent me an email announcing that they just received a new 2023 blue Z car. Check it out on the link below. Anyone interested in taking a fun run to see it?

I called John about doing a fun run to Grossman Nissan but he was tied up yesterday. It was such a nice day Saturday, the salt washed away in the heavy rains of last week, dry roads and sunshine, I just couldn't resist jumping on the white 240Z and getting down there to Old Saybrook, and checking out the new Z.

They told me it's the only one in CT right now and they think it will be gone by next weekend. Just sitting here in the showroom it's pretty cool, I would love to get a drive in it, but that was apparently out of the question, unless I had showed up with 6 or 7 big bills - yes 53K MSRP +10K "market adjustment."

Anyway I took a bunch of pictures to amplify a bit on the posted video. A bit too much glare but still a pretty sight. Enjoy!

Wow! TWO TONS?? With 400bhp that computes to a weight/power ratio of about 10:1, or what the first AC Cobras had in the 1960s. Some of our modified 240s in the Club are doing far better than that. :?

$115 for wheel locks? I bought mine for $30.

And that looks like TWENTY thousand dollars in "market adjustment", or do I need new glasses?

Good pictures, and I'm glad you got down there to view it. I wish they had let you drive it.

The first GTR in this state was wrecked the first day it arrived; a salesman took it to lunch, headed up the ramp toward the highway and launched it. It went sideways under him and he tied it around a power pole.

Great pictures Juan! I'm glad to see both you and Paul J. were able to see this car on Saturday. I could not attend due to previous commitments.

Gee, I was not aware the new Zcar would be that heavy. The posted weight of just the front of the car is about the same as the entire gross weight of my 240Z!

I really do like the styling and stance of this new Zcar. I would prefer it had the proposed "split grill" I've seen on some recent media posts, but at least Nissan didn't overdesign the body panels with crazy curves and shapes, or worse, fake scoops and vents (I hate them), like what is on the current Supra.

It will be interesting to see if supply catches up with demand. I know I would not pay $10K over MRP right now. I'm not sure how many other people will either.

My wife and I had lunch at the Griswold Inn in Essex today and afterwards, we decided to stop in to see if the new Z was still at Grossman Nissan in Old Saybrook. Sure enough, it was still there and the friendly staff allowed me to sit and even start up the car in the showroom! Boy it sounded good!

There are many people interested in buying this car, and one in particular in Long Island who is very interested and would settle for the $10K over MSRP as the LI dealer wants $25K over. Geez!

Filipe Arnaud, their sales manager told me that there are three Z's in CT dealerships right now and all are automatics. Those cars sent to the select dealerships come from Nissan with whatever options are installed at the time. There is no input on options that the dealers can make for them or for ordered cars right now. You can put your name on a list and when and if a car comes in you have the option to buy it with the "as delivered" options it comes with. Most of this has to do with continued supply chain issues and of course, supply and demand.

Regards,

Still there! I told the salesman that the "market adjustment" will counterbalance the appeal of the car. But someone will buy it!

For those who are too young to remember the 240Z debut in 1970, these were EXACTLY the same stipulations the public was faced with back then. You couldn't even opt for a different color; whatever came off the truck was either yours, or the next guy's on the list. Your deposit was either refunded to you or you were put back on the 30-person wait list to decide about the next 240Z arriving at your dealer's...in another month or so.

I keep checking my local dealer but no new Z's yet, it's exciting to see that they are starting to turn up though!

The blue paint looks great, man I can't wait to see one in person.

Thanks Frank! :D

Not likely I'll be driving one in the near future but I will be window shopping for sure. Wonder what color Z my dealer will get first? Hmm.
