Sooooo how do you get a Z into a VW-Audi only car show?
You put a four cylinder Volkswagen motor in it!
I took the Z up to Lime Rock for the FCP Euro Motoring Meet at Lime Rock Park - Featured Marque: VW/Audi - Trunk or Treat, Cars and Coffee show on Sunday.
All makes were welcome, however the Sam Posey straight was dedicated to VW/Audis.
They had a great turn out of cars and young people. Lots of fun Halloween costumes.
Now back to that Z, looks like some very cool engineering.

Perhaps an engineer daddy who wanted his kid to own a Classic Z, without the risks? The car now stops a LOT better than it goes.

Thank goodness he didn't put the air-cooled version in there.

I'm not sure why that swap happened but it's interesting. The sound and torque of an inline six is better to m me but to each their own.

Could be wrong but I think that may be homebrewed turbo setup added to it, which I'd imagine makes up for the lack of displacement. I'm guessing it was from an Audi, I'd be curious what kind of power it actually produces. I had a VW Rabbit with a similar looking engine (sans turbo) and it was reliable but really didn't have much get up and go. And that car was really light!

I like the homemade coolant pipes visible in the one photo.
