Post subject:  My Z just turned the ODO clock over TWICE!

It wasn't until this year that I have had two vehicles which I have been able to turn over the odometer twice, that's right.... passing the 200,000-mile mark. The first car to reach that mileage was my wife's 2002 Toyota Rav4, now with just over 208K on the clock. It has been a great little vehicle which, with its 5-speed manual transmission, made it a fun car to drive.

As I am the original owner of my '71Z, 200K miles only works out to about a little less than 4K miles per year of ownership. As you can imagine though, there were periods of ownership that I piled the miles on as my "everyday driver" and many years that the car just sat on jackstands in my garage, waiting for some tender loving restoration.

It goes without saying that our Z has been an important part of our lives. I have enjoyed owing and driving this particular car more than any other car that we have owned. It has proved to be a reliable and super-fun car to drive especially when taking it out on some of the twisty scenic country roads in CT.

I just had to share the joy with you folks!

I guess they didn't figure the Z's would go a million miles and not put one more digit on the OD. The 280zx they did.

That's awesome John, thanks for sharing! What's so cool to me is you have had 200k miles of fun and memories (and counting) in that car....that's the way to do it. No regrets.

Also, I think your Z could easily pass for a car with only 14 miles on it.

Howie, do you think this warrants some kind of a second honeymoon for John and his Z? Renewed vows or something? Sort of like shipping over for a second 100,000 mile enlistment?

On the other side of that coin, my 2004 Pathfinder just turned over its first 22,000 original miles! 8)
