I've been working with a guy (Ted Bacon) who creates reproduction Datsun window stickers. You provide the VIN, engine # and options and he creates a very close version of what the original would have looked like. If you have information on the original selling dealer (which I did), he can incorporate that as well.

For $20, he will then send you a PDF, which you can bring to Staples and have laminated.

Attached is what mine looks like. Years earlier than 1978 have different formats, mirroring the originals.

Overall, I found it was $20 well-spent and look forward to keeping it displayed with my car at shows this summer.

If you are interested, you can see his Facebook thread at https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheZGan ... 076315724/

If you are not on Facebook, you can e-mail him at ted.bacon@comcast.net

Extremely cool! 8) So, we could enter any type of options or price we wanted for our "original" Datsun!

I keep trying to wipe that original carpet fiber off my screen at the "Total Price" line.

Yes. You can ask him to use any options and numbers you want but it will make it less authentic looking if they are not the correct prices and options for your car. In my case, I have copies of two other actual window stickers for a Black Pearl. So all the option prices I used are correct for my year. I think he knows the amounts for the base vehicle and options for each year.

Well, you're right again, of course. Probably nobody would believe I bought a showroom-fresh 1970 240Z with a 300hp dual overhead cam L-24 for $1,000.

But it sure would generate some discussion at a car show!
