Just located 2 1970 series one z cars one with a 5/70 build date on door and the other with a 10/70 build date on door. The later car is in remarkably good condition for a unrestored car in the Northeast. Supposedly a California car and it has air conditioning (dealer installed)? The other car has the typical Northeast rust but has a lot of the series one parts. Trying to gauge price ranges to help the guy out. Both run. Any thoughts?

Pictures?
Complete?
Hint: we are seeing 1970 *parts* cars selling for several thousand dollars.
We estimate there are certainly fewer than 3,000 of them left WORLD-WIDE, probably fewer than 2,000, possibly even fewer than 1,000.

There were slightly fewer than 11,000 1970 cars which left the factory, and that was 54 years ago. About 1,000 of them went to other countries, and the rest came here to their primary market, the USA.

What are the VINs?

Cars appear complete with no major parts missing. One is fairly rust free even in the battery box. The other definitely has northeast rust. Do have problems posting photos also did not take many. VIN -06444 and -11806.

HLS30-06444 equates to July 1970, but it's not unusual for cars to receive build dates outside the normal sequence. As I understand it Quality Control was very strict, so an early car which failed final inspection could get sent back into the assembly line for a new widget. When it finally passed inspection and was sent out for sale, the build date and the calendar dates didn't match.

The HLS30-11806 is indeed an Oct/70 car.

Where does the owner say these cars have been hiding all these years?
