I have received a response from Lime Rock Park this morning, who will reserve the CTZCC enough space to show about 40 Z cars at the end of the Main Straight for Sunday's Hagerty Classics car show 10a-3p this Sunday, 25May. I regret the 3-day short fuse.

Any of us entering with a Z and identifying ourselves at the gate as CTZCC members will get the club discount of $9 per ticket and will get directions to the Z section on the Sam Posey straightaway. Veterans and their immediate families enter free.

This is one of the two premier vintage car shows for each year (Memorial Day and Labor Day), with over 500 classic cars already entered, including 150 vintage Shelby machines. If you are already camping there (Colin and Colin, Ent) just bring your cars to the end of the main straight by the service access road to find us.

Our point of contact at the track is Mitch, 860.942.155five, who also wants us to become active in several of LRP's other club events this year and hopes to address a meeting of us together if possible during our 50th anniversary year. If you have Q&A for Mitch, call or text that cell number and he will help you.

Pass the word about this and we'll muster up a good corral of Zs to show the world.

Frank

(Wrench slipped while replacing a fanbelt  )

It's OK to tow a car there if you have to; hardly any of the race cars are actually registered and the track doesn't count as public road. But you'll leave the trailer in the back lot and drive the car to our show spot at the end of the straight-away.

I'm trying to get in touch with Rick Morgan in case he can bring #13, but he doesn't answer his phone.

Frank,

Sounds like a great outing. My attendance will depend on the weather. Hoping with fingers crossed!
What vet's ID will be required? Will the flag on my driver's license be enough or will they require DD-214? I don't have a VA card.

Alan, they accept DD214s if you can dig yours out. If you have veteran license it might work too. $9 club rate if not.

Rich, sorry to hear you're under the weather. If you feel even a little better by Sunday the drive itself is a great experience and a walk thru 500+ vintage classic cars always takes your mind off your problems. Hope you decide to come anyway; you're tough! Bring your camera.

Johnny Z, it will be wonderful if you do! Both you guyZ please bring your Zs. 8)

I reached Karl and Big Al and he will try Paul in RI.

I just spoke with Mitch for finer details. He says we will all enter via the main ticket booths on Whitehollow road up near West Bend (where we usually enter for a Bob Sharp Day). The ticket people will give us directions to our Z pad. Right now we are planned to be all the way down at the end of the straight away, past the pedestrian bridge but before Big Bend. There are big grassy areas on either side of the track there but whether we will be on the inside or outside of the track will (somehow) depend upon weather Sunday morning. That will be decided tmrw and the ticket people will know by the time we arrive. Tell them you are with CTZCC and ask directions to our parking pad.

Regardless what time you arrive, there will be vehicle, bicycle and pedestrian traffic on the track itself and along both sides (some people are camping there overnight and will be up at dawn). For goodness sake, please don't run over anybody and if you do, don't tell them you are with us!
