John T, if the weather cooperates and you bring your Z it would be cool if we got a photo of the two Classic Motorsports Magazine cars together. Tim Suddard will be at Tom Cotter's (Barn Finds) this weekend, might be fun to send him photo.
Both cars are in this weeks web message:

Colin
the older one

Saturdays forecast now shows a 20% chance or precipitation (the wet stuff). :? :?: We mortals don't know what the conditions might be by next Saturday. Sunny? Rainy? Snowy?    :?: It's a crap shoot either way. I think 20% sounds pretty safe. :?

Hi guys,
This is a dilemma. Saturday is showing a chance of showers in the morning and clearing up but cloudy in the afternoon. With a high of 61. I have a solid commitment for Sunday that I can't get out of.

The long term forecast is showing a temp of 56 and cloudy for the following Saturday, October 27th.

So at this point I'm going to stick with this Saturday and hope that Sunday's sunny weather arrives early!

I realize the turnout won't be as high if there is any morning precipitation but not every year can be a packed house!

Ross

Phew! I'm glad we are going to take a chance, I couldn't make the rain date. I'll be there rain or shine!

:D

I can remember one year when it rained all thru the state; everyone got wet on the way in. When we got there, there was a bubble of "dry" all over Ross' property; not a single drop fell on us during the entire Outing and the yard stayed dry, even tho we could hear thunder in every direction. When I arrived early, Ross was standing in the middle of his big front yard, furiously waving his weather wand and smiling. It worked. As soon as we left the skies opened and everyone got a free carwash on the way home.

Last year the clouds formed a huge "Z" directly above Ross' mansion. Everybody there witnessed it, and we had just finished commemorating our late friend Bill Moreau, whose license plate was "ZZZZYa". Some of us guessed he had.

Strange and mysterious things indeed. Ross' yard is a special place.
Z Y'all Saturday.

At the moment I am hopeful . . . . . the 280 is sleeping for the winter and my 300zx has an injector issue, currently apart waiting for 6 new injectors. :?

Ready for re-assembly so time will tell.

Ross, you've made the correct call. I've got an umbrella and a new rain jacket. They will be on the passenger seat so the foul weather gods will get the message...NO RAIN!!! See all there.

Well the forecast seems to be improving slightly each day. The latest I just saw was "chance of a passing shower and partly sunny with a high of 62".

Yes, I do remember the year where it seemed to rain everywhere except on us! Let's hope for a repeat of that on Saturday.

So bring a light jacket and get ready to eat some chili!

Ross

Just as Frank and Ross mention, I recall that rain all around the Zcar Estate as my first one (in ‘09). I was overly anxious and just plain drooling to go. But also on the fence that morning as my GT-R (deliverd in Oct ‘08 so a year old) had yet to experience any water other than from a hose. I hoped it would be postpone but NADA. I eventually manned up, broke down and went. Sure enough I had spats of light rain here and there on the ~80 mile ride down. But once there in the special spot he reserved for the GT-R, all was well and I chamoised it off! And it was a GRAND DAY indeed. Then many, if not all, got a final rinse on the ride home. Amazingly, the GT-R did not dissolve away. So if it’s on and hopefully light as forecast now, we’re still in. Hopefully Ross’s wand and his connections “upstairs” will rearrange the weather?! But if not, he had a good run up to this one... my 10’th anniversary of attendance.

A little rain won't bother me. 8)
A little snow and I'll be seeing you next year.
