In the way back when Ross announced the date of the CTZCC Annual Outing in Darien, I posted a thought of starting a caravan at BJ's in Wallingford, as we have done in years past. Sadly, I have had no response to date. Therefore I am scrubbing this attempt. I have now made other plans to carry a co-pilot and will leave home at an earlier time.

DARN!
I *JUST* got a PM from someone asking to add two more to that caravan. Honest, not even an hour ago.

OK, we have only a few days left until the picnic (YAYYYY! :D ). If Z lovers from any corner of the globe want to muster together to drive in as a Z cluster, y'all should be making plans this week. I know there are several newbies who are looking for caravans to join. Let's zee if we can congregate along major routes to bring as many Zs together as possible for what is historically the biggest Z gathering in the northeast.

Wasn't sure until this week that I'd be attending, but now that it's a sure-thing, I'm definitely down with the BJ's in Wallingford plan

It looks like there are a few or more Zs that will assemble at BJ's in Wallingford. I posted the initial caravan thought quite a while ago and had no response so I decided to scrap the plan as per my pervious post. I have since made other arrangements for my drive to the Z Outing.

There is no reason not to caravan without me. Pick a starting time (figure 1 hour to the Z outing). Follow the Wilbur Cross/Merritt Parkways south, cruising through each rest stop (North Haven, Orange, Fairfield, New Canaan, so others can join in. Your Parkway exit is #36. Turn Right on Rt106 (Old Stamford Rd/Hoyt St) into Darien past Springdale Florist and Greenhouses, left on Camp Ave, Rt on Hollow Tree Ridge Rd, Rt on Christie Hill Rd to #97. The house is on the right.

Someone must take the lead and coordinate the group. All those planning to caravan should post accordingly and share cell phone numbers. Enjoy the ride to the 2017 Z Outing.

Well, figure it takes about an hour to drive sanely from BJs in Wallingford (1046 North Colony Rd, 06492)to Ross' mansion in Darien (97 Christie Hill Rd, 06820), stopping at each Rte 15 rest stop along the way to gather more members. Ross opens the gates at 10am so you would want to leave BJ's *about* 0900 (but surgical precision isn't necessary; people will be arriving all day). So if you just said you were LEAVING BJ's at/abt 0900, people would begin gathering in time to go with you. Members would wait at the rest stops for the caravan to cruise through, and join you. By the time you reached Ross you could arrive in impressive style. 8)

I've spoken with our member Bill Moreau's family and they intend to try to attend this, bringing Bill's 280Z. We will reserve a spot of honor for the car directly in front of the front doors, and say a few words about our friend when we gather for the photo. Everybody admired Bill and the family should hear the stories we all have of him. He never missed an Annual Fall Outing picnic.

Thanks for doing this Frank. It would be an honor to have them attend. It will be difficult to see that beautiful blue Z without Bill present.

We all knew that. You're in charge of the weather and we have complete confidence in you. I can remember one year when it rained throughout the ENTIRE STATE, except over your yard. You're almost scary.

Looks like perfect weather to me. I can't wait!!

I've already got my Z packed! I'm normally not even ready this early for family vacations..... This may get me into trouble.

Make sure you inflate your spare to the right weight. Everybody forgets to do that before a road trip and when they're stuck on the roadside in Indian Territory they find they have two flats instead of one.
