WEDNESDAY 4/26 LOOKS LIKE RAIN, SO I AM CALLING IT EARLY. I'VE DECIDED TO PUSH OUT FOR ONE MORE WEEK(AGAIN). UPDATED POST BELOW

In order to get us together sooner than later, I'd like to invite you all to run some of that winter gas out of your Z and Cruise to the Marina. Remember as the club is taking an official hiatus for 2017+, this is an unofficial meet location offered by me, as a fellow club member.

When:
Wednesday, MAY 3rd 6pm (Rain Date: MAY 10th)

Where:
Island Cove Marina (the place I work)
47 Sunrise Ave
Old Saybrook, CT 06475
*easy access of I-95 and Route 9

A few special requests for attending:
-SPEED LIMIT ON SUNRISE AVE IS 20 MPH - go slower (It's a residential street, NO Speeding/Revving)
the Marina is at the end of the street
-In April we will have a lot of boats on land still and some customers working on them in the evening - we may need to adjust how we park around them, just know our customers have first priority. If you are asked to move please do so.
-The Good News: We paved most of the Driveway last summer so less DuZt.

Other than those requests:
-We have a nice lounge to gather in with a Large Screen TV, Tables and Chairs after enjoying the Z's outside
-I will not have beverages available, so pack a cooler. We have a soda machine.
-I probably will have some Pizza's delivered and ask for a nominal donation to cover only the cost of a slice or three. (I'll update this as the Meet gets closer)

Stuff we can do:
-Partner Clubs may present their 2017 schedules in person, or send to me in a PM and I'll pass the info along.
-Members can announce a Fun Run of their Own or talk about a current Z project

I hope you can make it, If you think you will, please chime in here, I'd like to get an idea of what to expect for the 1st unofficial CTZCC member meet.

If all goes well, I'll invite you all back again later in the Zeason!

-Slower than 20MPH down Sunrise Ave - Please.

Sounds good, Keith!

Unlike our monthly meetings, these gatherings can be super-flexible, so we don't need to settle for iffy weather because we're not locked into a fixed date.

I'm looking forward to getting together at the Marina on a beautiful, sunny day...it will definitely be worth the wait.

See you on the 3rd!

- Jim

I asked Ross if I could borrow his Fall Outing Magic Weather Wand for next week. He said it might not work in the Spring, but it's worth a try.

Hey Keith-

Still will not work from my end, unfortunately I'll need 2 more push outs to Zee the marina and all the ZZZZZZZ's in CT. Heading to SC for 10 days and a few rounds.

Like Jim said no rush lets wait for a beautiful day. Fingers crossed for 5/17 but most likely end of season meet will be my first time at marina.

Car is running great a few 100+ mile adventures under the belt.......... Looking forward to meeting the gang from the south !!!! That is south of MA line.

Looks like the long range is giving us a good day on Wednesday 5/3.

I'll check in again on Tuesday.

Keith,
I saw Bruce DePrest, the Channel 3 weather guru, at the Meriden Daffodil Festival parade on Saturday and congratulated him on the wonderful weather for the parade. I also put in a request for a good Wednesday forecast. He said it was all set.

I'll still keep me fingers crossed!

Alan

Looks like we'll make it for Tomorrow, Wednesday, 5/3. Come by as early as 6pm.
.
Come on down to this very informal meet at the place I work.

Things to keep in mind since this will be the first meeting during our new self service phase:

I will order some cheese and pepperoni Pizzas and ask for $2 per slice. (Covers my up front expense for the pizza, plates, napkins, delivery tip) If there is extra money in the end, I will forward to the club account for the future. If extra Pizza, I'll treat my coworkers the next day.

I will NOT have drinks available. Please bring your own, or use our vending machine at the Marina. (I think $1 or $1.25 per drink)

Bring chair in case the weather is good enough and we stay outside.

When you drive through the neighborhood that leads to the Marina, please no speeding. 20 MPH....or less. Show off them Z's with a slow roll.

Looking forward to starting the season and kicking off the CTZCC 2017 new phase.
