Jay, please find out what it costs to show a car and what they do in case of heavy weather?

The cost is $15 the day of the show, $10 if you preregister.

Also, it's a rain or shine event. Historically it's been nice so keep your fingers crossed.

I asked how to preregister, waiting to hear.

Can't wait! Just replaced my radiator with a polished aluminum one from MSA. The 10 year old 4 core from MSA started leaking at the upper hose pipe seam. I was also working on Kevin's brown 72 Z. Replaced rear wheel brake cylinders, alternator and regulator. Kevin's not a father (as far as he knows). Can he come too? :lol:

Gee, I never considered that!! i don't think you have to be a daddy to participate in daddy's day events? Look, he's your "kid" (hardly applies anymore!) so just say he's there for you, enjoying daddy's day with his dad. :D

WELL ~ !

I just Wikki'd Scranton while looking for motels there, and made some very interesting discoveries about your city.
You have about 77,000 souls living in the city proper, with more than 1/2 million in the greater metro area; a real city by anyone's standards. You have over 4200 single women living alone there and the ratio of adult men to adult women is a surprisingly-low 83-to-100. The national average is about 96 men to 100 women, so if you can't get a date in Scranton, you must not want one. There are 8 THOUSAND marchers in your annual St Paddy's Day parade (everybody's Irish for one day) and there are 10 universities serving the city. That might account for the most-surpriZing statistic; a staggering 12% your population consists of kids 18-24. That's more than 4 times the norm in most places. Kids generally tend to flee their hometowns right after high school, often to college or the military service, and don't return until their late 20s (if they come home at all). Now we know where they all went! :lol: The average income for a family is about $41K/year, so if we can survive in CT we could do quite well in Scranton. Your city is rich in history with generations of coal mining, steel mining, foundries and railroad transportation. That Steam place actually puts you on a steam train and carries you on a tourist route around the city (I am certainly gonna try that). The Delaware Lackawanna railroad had a roundhouse in my childhood city and they sometimes announced they were pulling the Barnum & Bailey circus into town behind a 4-6-6-4 or a 4-8-8-4 (only twice) and all us kids rode our bikes down to the tracks to watch the massive land yachts sail past. The huge "Big Boy" steamers and tenders and cabooses were as much a draw for us as the circus itself was.

And all this time I thought Scranton was just someplace to get gasoline when I was enroute to someplace else! :roll: You've actually got yrslf a rather interesting city there. :thumbs_up: AND, you have a Mohegan Sun casino, just like we do. How did THAT happen?

You've done your homework Frank. Yes all those facts are true about Scranton, there is a lot of history here. This was a booming place in its day I'm told. The steam train ride is fun and recommended. We make it a point to ride the trolley yearly too, which is equally fun. The trolley is a restored one from the 1940s and it runs on a stretch of tracks called "The Laurel Line" which at one point in time was a main mode of transportation for many including my grandparents in their youth.

Trains are fascinating and I have no doubt seeing the circus roll in that way was a sight to see. Some of those steam locomotives are gigantic and there are a few on display in Steamtown.

If you enjoy architecture (I do) there are many beautiful examples through the city as well. I find grabbing a coffee downtown and then taking a walk around is the best way to view it.

The Saint Patrick's day parade is a huge event, I want to say something like the third largest in the country.

Also yes, we have a Mohegan Sun Casino. I avoid going though as I'm not very lucky that way. My wife and I went when it first opened to play the slot machines. We each went in with $20 to spend.... In less than five minutes I was out. An hour later she had $40. :lol:

I've only recently learned to appreciate architecture, because CT has so very many examples of it. It has made me recognize the comfort of my youth.
